It is heatbreaking that both the mom and the newborn baby were killed. I cant watch the video either.

Fig Tree pride (2 lionesses and 6 cubs) seen in their territory again. Looks like they've settled back in over the past month. Still no sign of the third lioness, unfortunately.

As of a several of hours ago (7/8) Rongai cubs were still separated from the rest of the pride.
(2/4) BRM's Lorkulup/Oloimina, 6 lionesses, 1 cub, and the subadult male were seen together near Talek Gate. The separated cubs were first spotted in the Maji ya Fisi area. Hope the pride has since moved off to find them.

Whew, very perilous situation for the future of the Rongai Pride. One or two cubs maybe, but 7/8 is terrible. I hope they get out and search. I believe it was Brent, don't recall exactly, but one of the guides in the Mara had drug a carcass to draw the pride close to a lost cub, a cub that surprisingly enough had been hanging out with some nomad males while he was lost. So, since they practice veterinary intervention down there, among other forms, perhaps a similar situation can occur here as well.

I recall that guide was later reprimanded or even fired for it as it was a undesired direct intervention in nature.

The cubs are still separated. Is this normal? I originally misread this tweet. They didn't go out looking for them today. I still don't know that this can end well.

And.. the cubs survived potentially 2, but likely 1 night without the pride.... Adventurous young things.

I have seen a few different videos of lost cubs hanging with stranger males. I remember the video with Brent and the lost cub. Wasn't that in S. Africa?

Perhaps it was indeed, I thought Brent was a Mara guide based on it being him who filmed Spearboy when he tried to join that coalition and got his infamous injury, and as such I thought he had found that cub there as well. Maybe he moves around, or maybe I have that information mistaken.

Brent works Painteddog. tv now. It is a nice channel that seems to truly care about wild animals.

That was when he worked for WE and WE was filming in the Mara but they also filmed in other countries at the same time. Now that I think of it, that video of Brent with the lost cubs might be on his Painted Dog channel. Ill have to see if I can find it.

Potentially unfortunate news in regards to the Rongai Pride, only 10/11 cubs have been seen recently and perhaps 2/10 have some injuries. One injury is said to be an injury to the tail and the other is said to be an eye injury of some degree. Will update when more information is shared.
