Could be. I believe that the Mbiris and Nharu are still inexperienced to established as dominant males on somewhere part of Timbavati,Kruger or Manyeleti... Their numbers and size clearly helps them a lot. Let's see what happens. The 2 Mbiri males sired by Matimba males are moving for everywhere lately and both Mbiri males chased away the Ross males a couple of years back too. The Birmingham lionesses more than likely will fight beside the Ross males. as they have cubs with them and the 2 news cubs RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - BA0701 - 10-27-2020 (10-27-2020, 10:38 PM)TinoArmando Wrote:(10-27-2020, 10:33 PM)BA0701 Wrote:(10-27-2020, 10:26 PM)TinoArmando Wrote:(10-27-2020, 10:20 PM)BA0701 Wrote:That's really correct my friend. For sure the lionesses would fight beside the Ross males, a lot of cubs in this pride to protect. As @Tr1x24 mentioned, I believe BYM would also not fight against the Ross males as well. Though he was seen mingling with the Mbiris, Birmingham Pride is his natal pride, and the Mbiris are more strangers to him. Some really interesting dynamics taking place there, right now. Tyson and Fabio are truly massive beasts, and not to be trifled with at this stage in their lives. Matimbas, Junior didnt interfere in the clash.. But Mbiris are not ready yet, 3 of them are not 4 yrs old yet, they are younger and smaller then BYM at this point.. If they came close to 2 Ross males and Birmingham Pride, they would be absolutely destroyed by 2 Ross males, BYM and 5 Birmingham lionesses.. Mbiris are currently in the phase of avoiding dominant males and trying to bulk up. Yeah, I think once all the roaring took place by the pride, the Mbiris likely turned in another direction. In that video, the guide referred to the "Mbiri Pride", was he referring to the Mbiri Coalition, or is there a Mbiri Pride from which those males came? Yes Mbiri pride often comes to Ngala, they where seen with Junior there month or so ago on WE.. They are neigbouring prides.. Ah, OK, then that raises another question for me, was BYM mingling with the Mbiri coalition, or the Mbiri pride. Being neighboring prides, I'd imagine there is likely some history of clashes to set boundaries, so they know something about each other. I found it strange that the Mbiri coalition and BYM male being so close to each other due to how established the Mbiris are, but would find it equally odd if he was mingling with that pride as the guide said. We saw video of BYM very close to those males eating their kill, and I was surprised that they did not get more aggressive with him during that encounter, to be honest. Perhaps they were unaware, but the video makes it look as if he was only a few yards away from them. RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - BA0701 - 10-27-2020 Some fantastic video of BYM and the pride, video of the Birmingham Pride begins at 9:16. He is seriously a massive beast, when he fills out he will be incredibly large. RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - T I N O - 10-28-2020 An old portrait of the two lead Birmingham pride lionesses with their age approx the 13 yrs old still are very strong and brave lionesses. These two lionesses are mother of the five Birmingham boys (As well of the majority of the lionesses from the Birmingham breakaway pride) and the 3 oldest Nharu lionesses. Isn't this awesome? Great duo and still in such great condition. Do you know if either of them are mothers of the young Birmingham male & sister? I'll ask this to Ngala rangers. But to be honest the young Birmingham lioness look like as the white dot (lioness on the left side of the photo) her was named as white dot by Jandi |
