RE: N'waswitshaka males - Potato - 04-21-2021 Size always matter a lot, not always is deciding factor however. Most often larger males dominate smaller ones. On this clip we can see that we could already presume from who had most mating rights on Styx and Salati females - that Orange Eye males is first or second one in order of dominance. RE: N'waswitshaka males - Gijima - 04-22-2021 (04-21-2021, 02:43 PM)Tonpa Wrote: "During our afternoon drive yesterday, Field Guide Lucia and her guests watched as a lioness showed interest in mating with one of the lions in this coalition of four (three visible in the clip). She reacted aggressively when two males advanced on her. This spurred the male in the middle to attack his brother in a show of dominance (you'll notice how the male on the left then falls on his back submissively). A gripping sighting, which had everyone on the edge of our seats." If she's an older lioness who has had cubs, then that's just how they look after multiple litters. If she's young then maybe BUT she also won't be mating if she's pregnant. Is this a Styx lionesses? I guess we'll have to wait and see... it's honestly really hard to tell until like the week before when it becomes obvious. RE: N'waswitshaka males - Gijima - 04-28-2021 Genuine question, what are the N’Waswishakas up to these days? I thought they would be the center of all the action going on lately... not to mention the most powerful coalition in the area, but I don’t hear much about them at all. RE: N'waswitshaka males - Tonpa - 04-28-2021 Seems they're pretty content at the moment with the Southern and Styx Prides. RE: N'waswitshaka males - Gijima - 04-28-2021 I find that really interesting...There are four males competing for just three females. With Orange Eyes behaving as the most dominant one I wonder if the other three will be interested in finding their own prides soon. When those 3 females gave birth, they will most likely try to expand and find new females to mate. RE: N'waswitshaka males - Tonpa - 04-29-2021 Hunting reel of the Ndzhenga boys, they even snagged a white rhino calf RE: N'waswitshaka males - Potato - 04-29-2021 After an incredible morning drive, we decided to head to the southern parts of the traverse and explore areas we haven't been to. On one of the main access roads we bumped into 4 lionesses (members of the Kambula / Ntseve pride) resting in the shade. They were reports of 4 males in the area as well but unfortunately we could not locate them. ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author It would be intresting if if Kambula females sired by Birminghams will breakaway settle in southern Mala Mala, empty land at the moment which was territory of Charleston pride some years back and settle with Ndzenga males. It would be a perfect scenario I would say. Kambula subs can not push neiter north nor west as there are too big, too strong prides there so they do not have much options if they will intent to form separate pride.
