Down to one sub-adult now, if she doesn't survive it'll be the end of the pride.

Sparta pride was unlucky, in 2013 (Majingilane litter) , they had 3 males and 1 female who survived to adulthood, by 2015 they had 3 adult lionesses with then, but Majingilanes abandoned them, later on young males left the pride, and 1 adult lioness got killed, leaving 2 adult lionesses and 1 younger one.. But then in 2016/2017 young Kambula lionesses invade their territory and pushing them further south, killing 1 adult female in process..

2 females settled in south, but that area was not stable, young coalitions like Tsalalas and S Avocas where fighting for territory, in which Avocas won in 2018 and become pride males of 2 Sparta females..

Older female gave birth to 3 cubs in mid 2019, but younger female didnt, as we learnt that she was infertile.. 2 cubs disappeared shortly after, leaving only one..

In early 2020, another tragedy, as younger infertile female was found dead, leaving very old female at 12 yrs of age to alone raise her daughter..

She succeed for almost a year, when in early 2021 she was losing condition and died, leaving her 1.5 yrs subadult alone..

Young subadult was not seen for 2 months, and was pressumed dead, until they found her in Lion Sands, in suprisingly good condition, that was around month ago..

Even if this cub makes it. Its going to have lived nomadic for most of her formative years. Her parents never had the chance to pass on the distinctive culture a pride has, so things like hunting strategies. Social interaction and parenting that the Sparta pride made the Sparta pride will be completely forgotten. Even its genetic legacy will eventually be not greater in neighbourhood prides than in any new pride she may form. For those that care about silly stuff like that.

If this cub creates a pride again. This pride will have to reinvent itself from the start. The way she will interacts with her daughters will lay the foundations of how the pride will interact socially. The hunting strategies she invents as she grows up will be the strategies the new pride will use in the future and so on. 

So it may be more suited to not consider this a continuation of the old pride but more of a new one. Deserving of a new start and a new name
