Dudhwa, a forest that is so dense that even sun rays find it hard to penetrate these canopies and so vast that not one safari could cover it all. These diverse landscapes in the teria arc landscape has many secrets to unfold and many unfolded. Many species have lived and thrive here and continue to survive. And among these all lives this hulk, the Gulrighat Male. He is the king, the ruler of these wild terrains. And surely one of the most charming of all tigers in Dudhwa. His powerful stance, confident walk, and the pace at which he walks says about his kingship. This is the scene where a young Tigress was learning the skills to hunt and kill, played with the fawn ( probably provided by mother Tigress ) for around half an hour before the carnivore left it without killing ! She was forlicking the fawn like her pet toy and didn't want to let it go away anywhere ! Even though the Tigress was in no mood to kill it, the visibly frightened fawn which was only one or two days old and didn't know what is happening, made several attempts to run away from this deadly play but all the time Tigress chased it, caught it in its jaws gently and carried it back to the spot many times ! Both were gasping badly and were desperately thirsty ! After sometime, young Tigress left the scene in the search of water, leaving behind the badly injured and thirsty fawn to meet its fate ! And we left the scene with heavy hearts !" RE: The Terai Tiger - Pckts - 07-21-2020 Nirmalya Chakraborty T E R A I Tiger Roars Again! He is the elusive and shy new Sharda male who has entered the tourism zone after swimming the strong currents of the wide Sharda river. He is still not accustomed to human activities and expresses his raw discomfort before the tourists and watchers. Here, he patrols the Jhadi Tal area of Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary, part of the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve. We followed him head on as he cautiously walked and territory marked his new kingdom. I had earlier photographed many elusive tigers from jungles of the Himalayan foothills like Rajaji, Kaziranga and Corbett but this Dudhwa male was really a memorable experience! A new male giving an upclose and personal encounter. *This image is copyright of its original author Sarvesh Rangnekar Beldanda male | Beldanda waterhole Kishanpur WLS | UP *This image is copyright of its original author Anurag Prakash Male tiger from terai forest....Dudhwa *This image is copyright of its original author Sumesh Nair Tiger in Habitat.... I'm not sure, sorry. RE: The Terai Tiger - Ashutosh - 07-23-2020 No issues @Pckts. This big boy is called golu (the chubby one) and is a big resident male when he was filmed in Kalagarh Tiger Reserve at a resort in the sanctuary called Vanghat lodge. RE: The Terai Tiger - Pckts - 07-24-2020 sid_dtr Island tigress from Katerniyghat.. Girwa river is life line of Katerniyghat Wildlife Sanctuary. On one side is India while the other shore is from Bardia Nepal. Due to siltation Islands have formed in the middle of the river which are now huge landmasses providing safe haven to various species like Hog deer's Crocs Ghariyals and various turtle families. Tigers are known to inhabit these islands also and that is what I was interested in. After four hours of following the roaring of a Tiger we finally spotted a huge feline sitting on the edge. Image was made from a boat on our first visit. And then she turned out to be a tigress who blessed us with few minutes of her royal presence Coming winters I would once again be looking to track few more of these beautiful but elusive Island Tigers..
