RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 10-19-2021 Recent sighting of the last Eastern Bank male mating with a young lioness from Jock Pride “ she is a daughter of the Thomson males “ she and her sister are a Jock breakaway pride. These two lioness split from Jock pride about a year ago along with four cubs when the new males “ Easter Bank Male & South Shishangeni “ took over the pride to secure their cubs safety. Both lioness were recently seen doing great and all of the four cubs are still alive, these four cubs who are all males were fathered by the Mpondo males. There is also a young male in Jock pride who is son of Thomson males and is a sibling of the two girls of the jock breakaway pride. The young male who is son of Thomson males is treated badly daily by Eastern Bank Male as he is not his son. Hopefully the Boy can overcome this. The breakaway girls sometimes join the core pride time to time but usually run when the dominant males South Shishangeni and Eatern Bank come to protect the young ones. Glad to hear Eastern Bank male is spreading his genes alongside with his partner. He's in good condition despite his age. Are we sure that those 2 older females are sired by Mpondos? if im not mistaken, Mpondos came in that area around mid 2019, before that Jock pride was under Thompson males, even in 2020 Jock pride was still seen with 1 Thompson male as they moved west from Jock area to avoid Mpondos.. Aren't this 2 females too old to be sired by Mpondos?? RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Tr1x24 - 10-19-2021 @Brahimlegend do you know what is current situation with dominant males around Tshokwane/Mazithi Dam area?? To me it looks like quite a traffic in the area, Torchwood male was recently seen all the way to Mazithi Dam with females, 2 Mazithi males should also be there, aswell as 2 Mluwati males, also Trichardts are not far away either.. Do we know who controls which area there?? RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 10-19-2021 @Tr1x24 Apparently they are only 2.5/3 years old fathered by Mpondo, that’s what Louise Strauss says. Not sure, that would meant that they where already born in early 2019 atleast, as far as I know, Thompsons (or atleast 1 of them) was still in charge of Jock pride thru whole 2019 and even after in early 2020 as they run away with Jocks west : *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 10-19-2021 @Tr1x24 I think everyone is just moving around, this is how I imagine their usual territory. Yellow is Torchwood/ fourways males. No idea what he’s doing at mazithi dam, but they young and surrounded by old guys so they will expand. Red is Mazithi males, last updates they on s32 where orpen dam is. Mluwati Males moved south not sure exactly just north of Tshokwane in blue. Trichardt males have the s37 and around in green, a big territory only threats near are a solo old male and those young mazithi pride young males who are with that old guy. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 10-19-2021 @Tr1x24 yeah I will ask Louise about that RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Tr1x24 - 10-19-2021 Mohawk s28 male : Photo Credits : lifeissheedy *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - T I N O - 10-19-2021 One of the two dominant males of the Nshawu pride! He is the more dominant of 2 males that control the southern portion of Nshawu marsh, south east of Mopani camp in the Kruger National Park. Along with his coalition partner they fathered the 8 young cubs. Photo credits: Mikie Oninsta *This image is copyright of its original author

Credit: Munyai Humbe Max RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 10-20-2021 Okay spoke to Louise. Cleared some stuff up. Those girls are Thompson daughters and the young Male in the core pride is Thomson son. The four cubs with the two breakaway girls are fathered by Mpondo and the cool thing is they are 4 males. Apparently the breakaway girls join the main pride sometimes but run when Eastern Bank and south shish turn up. I’ll update the previous post |
