I'm still trying to get confirmation if the picture is recent
RE: Nkhulu males - Ngonya - 06-26-2024 "He had chosen his last resting place" by @jimballleza Could this deteriorated warrior in his last moments be the long missing Dreadlocks DeLaporte/Nkhulu? *This image is copyright of its original author It looks like his mane in previous months before he went missing... Still trying to get confirmation if the male died or the poster was exaggerating. RE: Nkhulu males - Duco Ndona - 06-27-2024 It wjll be hard to tell with so much of his features obscured. He also still seems pretty alive concidering the past tense of the post. Atleast I dont think lions do the tiger thing and keep their posture. Recently #5 with #3 in Tengile. Apparently Snip Tail near his two brothers (posted in the same day by the same tourist). After spending most of his time with Nkhulu #6 and lionesses in Kruger for quite sometime, #3 make his appearence back in Sabi Sand, along with a post by Tengile sometime ago. Unlike many people claim, the brothers definitly havent split yet. Nkhulu #4 being posted a while ago by Kirkman's indicates that he may or may not have been there recently, making Nkhulu #6 the only one without any evidence of having visited Sabi Sand in months. RE: Nkhulu males - adamstocks16 - 06-30-2024 @Ngonya I was actually premature in claiming the Nkhulus were in the process of splitting but all evidence was leading me to believe that was happening. It just goes to show how unpredictable lions can be at times. Still bizarre what’s going on with these males though, Smudge #1 and Kinky Tail #5 are in good condition but have both suffered substantial mane loss. Snip Tail #2 and Orange Eyes #3 are also in decent condition but don’t appear to suffer from any mane loss. Whilst the other two #4 and #6 more often than not are struggling and looking skinny. Obviously there are some ongoing health issues there but there doesn’t seem to be any indication exactly what’s causing them. RE: Nkhulu males - Duco Ndona - 06-30-2024 Splits can take months or years to become permanent. Right now the cracks are forming and the coalition is splitting. However the there isnt any force actually pulling the groups apart from eachother. So they can still mingle with eachother as if they are one group if desired. The next step would be some change that forces the groups away from eachother. Something like one subgroup hanging out with a different pride as the others, only to then befall a takeover forcing them to flee. Food and lionesses becoming such an issue that the groups are forced to become hostile towards eachother or the territory becoming so large that the various groups cant join up regulary enough anymore to maintain good social bonds RE: Nkhulu males - Ttimemarti - 06-30-2024 Dude I don’t think so man the big coalitions just don’t stay together all the time they won’t be seen together like ever to be honest lol the vuyela males have been seen together all 5 but once in the last like year right? |
