RE: The Charleston Males - jordi6927 - 05-26-2019 Just a guess but I would say this was caused from hunting Buffalo ... if it were other Lions he would have been killed where he laid ... bite marks all over ... he didnt have that .... Hunting buffalo comes with a great risk and I think that is what happened to him .... RIP King ... this was a big blow ... I hope Big Boy will be ok RE: The Charleston Males - Matimbalani - 05-26-2019 (05-26-2019, 02:41 AM)jordi6927 Wrote: Just a guess but I would say this was caused from hunting Buffalo ... if it were other Lions he would have been killed where he laid ... bite marks all over ... he didnt have that .... He was a remarkable lion and to go out like this in his prime. At least his suffering was cut short. RE: The Charleston Males - sanjay - 05-26-2019 I also read this news and its really sadden me. RIP Mazino RE: The Charleston Males - AbcXyz - 05-29-2019 This is a kind of "official" report about Mazino's death: "The lion pertaining to the inquiry was reported by an OSV on the 24th May that it was dragging its hind legs and initial suspicion was that it had broken its back. A consultation of all experts took place and a decision was taken to put the animal down as it was not in a good condition at all. The post-mortem results from the lion indicated that there was no bite mark and that ruled out a fight with another male. There was also no trauma detected on the spinal cord. The only conclusion was that a subluxation of a thoracic vertebrae or a disc prolapse could have led to acute lameness in the hind quarters, hence it was dragging them along." https://twitter.com/sanparksknp?lang=en RE: The Charleston Males - Spalea - 05-30-2019 I just come to learn this sad info: the death of the lion that has been keeping for years its broken fang hanging from the lip... But first at all a big warrior ! RIP. Yea,what an impressive male this guy is,and his brother Mazino was, legendary duo. He was scent marking, so he still controls some territory. Does anybody have some info where this sighting in Kruger was? RE: The Charleston Males - Matimbalani - 11-13-2019 An older video of the Charlestons. RE: The Charleston Males - Potato - 11-13-2019 They were looking amazing at barely 3 years old. |
