Is this the same lion? His mane is different form and length RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - Pantherinae - 01-10-2015 It said Ron on The description so i guess so, and he Looks like ron, but it can be The sourroundings and light who makes the mane look light. It sure Looks like him RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - sanjay - 01-16-2015 I got some chat with the fb account of notch lions, and guess what ? I get some precious knowledge about these magnificent coalition. Ceaser - Is biggest of them, He is wide ,large, largest head and stocky build. But not the longest and tallest. Bob (Grimace ) and Notch2 are longest from head to toe (Bob is little longer). Notch2 is tallest at shoulder among all Guess what is surprising ? Ron is smallest among them BUT HE IS THE LEADER From back- Bob ,Ron,Notch2,Notch and Ceaser *This image is copyright of its original author All credit to: https://www.facebook.com/NotchTheLionKingOfTheMaraAndHisFiveSons RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - Pckts - 01-18-2015 With tigers, usually the longer the body the larger the weight. I have not done enough research on size correalation of lions, I'm sure @tigerluver can clarify it further. But I will always trust eye witnesses over anything else. Great info sanjay, thanks for investigating. RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - tigerluver - 01-18-2015 A few extra inches go a long way in adding on to mass in essentially all species, especially cats. Of course, sometimes a specimen can be so bulky and wide that it makes up for a relatively short frame. Being wider increases mass similarly to being longer as the same rules apply. Interestingly, lions don't have a good length and weight correlation from hunting records, probably because hunting records have gorged/emaciated and/or inaccurate weights, but the general felid trend is represented by the tiger conclusions. The cold reality of nature. RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - sanjay - 04-17-2015 Here is cool story about these notches: Two of the five Notch Rekero boys in below image, very massive males and tough trying to out do their fathers not little anymore. They are trying to take over the all eastern side of the park .They have chased David and Nick out of double cross which is another abandoned Notch pride ,a some of possibility the females are their half sisters. They have become so dominate and powerful apparently now even patrolling the conservancy along the eastern side of the game park toward Nabisho currently putting pressure on another group of 2 males Olapati and Orbanati who own several prides there. They seem to have left their 2 half brothers Alex and Ron 2 settled in Olkiombo. The group of five plus their sister moved to olkiombo which has been a Notch territory for several years now. They were joined by Notch sons Alex and Ron 2 and their sister ,all older siblings of Earless Notch from another pride called Rongai .9 subs all together. The seven males are some times referred to as M7,Their sisters will probably stay in Olkiombo start a new little pride of their own,The seven males have mated the olkiombo females who used to belong to their fathers and most likely even their sisters born there over the 4 years Notch and sons owned the area. And kicked another group of 2.8 yrs Notch subs out of Olkiombo consisting of 4 males four females. The all place is full of Notch descendant a product of Notch and sons taking over such a large area and so many prides. So inbreeding is happening as we speak,Its the flip side of the success of Notch and sons *This image is copyright of its original author Credit to Notch the Lion-King of the Mara and His Five Sons (from fb), Photo belong to Sammy Kaleku RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - Pantherinae - 04-17-2015 The rekro/Notch boys are said to be even bigger than The Notch boys when they where at the same age, and we all know how big they are. The one on the right Looks massive and stocky buildt. Sons of the lipstick male and Notch boys combining force is for sure a big dream coming true for a lion enthusiast as me! Great post @sanjay I will start adding information about the Notch line when my computer is fixed! RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - sanjay - 04-17-2015 Thank you @Pantherinae , I am also getting feeling these boys are exceptional. Huge in size. Like tigers I guess modern Lions are also getting bigger by size and weight. |
