RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Xiku_kutsu - 07-22-2021 Lubyelubye lion pride crossed the Sabie river and successfully hunted an impala and finished it off within a few minutes in the Kruger National Park South Africa. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - T I N O - 07-22-2021 (07-21-2021, 09:07 PM)lionuk Wrote: One of two old Lions on the H1-2 near Tshokwane this morning. It's very concerning, this male is really struggling, has a damaged front leg, and lots of sores and wounds on his spine. One of the S129 males. He is still on his prime, Sadly it's very unlikely if he can make it in this condition. Hope the time prove that I'm wrong. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - titose - 07-22-2021 The Maputo male, the rival of the old Kumana/Skukuza male "Dro-Lip" at Singita Lebombo. #Kruger #Singita #Lebombo By Brian Rode *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Brahim - 07-22-2021 This maybe the end of the S129 males. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - T I N O - 07-22-2021 (07-22-2021, 06:55 PM)titose Wrote: The Maputo male, the rival of the old Kumana/Skukuza male "Dro-Lip" at Singita Lebombo.A fine specimen of male lion! RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Duco Ndona - 07-22-2021 Yeah. That pretty much looks like the end. The one with the limb can with a lot of luck recover if he abandons his partner and has some luck scavenging.. The other sounds like he has a bust spine. All I can hope for is that some hyenas send him on his way soon. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Tr1x24 - 07-22-2021 Sad end for 2 s129 males , they where fan favorites, or atleast my, but around the age of 10,with mostly being nomadic and battle scared, without benefits of being pride males (easy food) life is hard, but they managed to survive to the old age, they didnt fall victim to any males when they roam vast areas of Kruger..Certaintly will have their place in the history of Kruger lions. Some of their history of which we know about, they where originally 5 young males in S129 in 2016, later in 2017/18, 4 where seen around Mazithi Dam and apperantly controled a pride, in 2019 only this 2 left and they become nomadic, they hanged around H4-1 road mostly, and 1 male had a serious fight with 2 Mazithi males at Lower Sabie (famous video) he survived and they moved around Mantimahle territory around Nkuhlu, fortunet for them Mantimahles moved further south.. It was looking great for 2 males, seen with females often, but with new coalition raising (Kinky Tail/s36 male and Mazithi/Tshokwanes) in the area it looks like they lost that area towards the end of 2020, recently seen all over the place and not in best condition..old nomadic lions dont survive long unfortunately.. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Tr1x24 - 07-22-2021 S36 male at Mazithi Dam in late 2019 as young male: Photo Credits : Ursula Celliers *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author Still no info that he apperantly had 3-4 brothers and 1 of old Matjulu males as partners, in fact on this photo he is reffered as one of Mazithi Dam males.. They in 2016 were called Muntshe males by Discoverkruger. they came to the crocodile bridge area and stayed several months in the area until they were expelled, they were seen north on S129 after that they were not seen anymore or there was very little about them, until 2019 where only two of them were seen in the Mazithi dam area and it was called Mazithi Dam males *This image is copyright of its original author And then it coordinates with everyone you said @Tr1x24 RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Tr1x24 - 07-22-2021 3 Phabeni males seen on H1-1, 6 km from Numbi Gate, Kruger Sightings : *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author These 3 young males with Blondie Fourways now control vast territory in quadrant of Phabeni Gate - Numbi Gate/Pretoriuskop - Shitlhave Dam - Nyamundwa Dam, definitely a future of Kruger lions (only concern is that they are in the area where poaching activity is very high).. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Tr1x24 - 07-23-2021 Watching some old footage of Mantimahle vs Sand River male on the bridge near Skukuza, i always taught it was one of the 3 Sand River males, but looking better that male is young, is he Toulon's son or which exactly Sand River male is that? : *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - titose - 07-24-2021 1/2 remaining Shishangeni males! "It is so nice to have spent our last leave driving through the KNP - social distancing from the large cities and spending time birding, searching for some predators which are not seen regularly up North, and keeping in touch with nature. • Here we spent some time awaiting two male Lions around Crocodile Bridge who had fed on a Plains Zebra kill. They were relatively full and resting but fully aware of the scavenging species trying their luck at the remaining meat on the carcass, thus chasing them away from time to time." #Kruger #ShishangeniMales By K E V A N D O B B I E *This image is copyright of its original author
