They’re all saying great things about it too, surprised I only just heard about it this year. Was thinking maybe it’s just better accommodations but Tristan is literally sleeping in tents over there from what I’ve seen, maybe the hype is very real. A collage for reference would be extremely helpful. Personally, I am really glad that this area is getting some much deserved attention, which is great! RE: Lions from Botswana - KM600 - 11-29-2024 Apparently both Golden boys may be trying to takeover Mokete Pride, some of their lionesses were seen within close distance from the brothers. Mokete Pride has recently had cubs and I believe their resident males are the 3 Mokete males. I’ve seen a few photos of the Mokete males, they are very much in their prime with nice blonde manes at the top with it blackening towards their chest, kinda like a Sabi Sands lion. Very much in their prime and I’d guess still on the younger side too. With the Golden Boys own pride only being down to one female, it makes sense for them to go searching for other females. Going up against 3 males tho… they’re bold I’ll give them that. RE: Lions from Botswana - KM600 - 12-10-2024 Adding onto the above comment, one of the Golden Boys was seen mating in the last week and it was most likely a lioness from Mokete Pride. Cubs are too young for the remaining female to begin mating again, and I seen the lioness too, she looked on the younger side, eye perfectly intact compared to the remaining Sexhibe Pride female. But, if these images are indeed recent, he does appear better than he was. He is far from returned to his finest condition, but he does look better than the last time we saw him. Him acting like that against humans on foot is much more of a normal response. Still separated from his brothers is a big shame too. RE: Lions from Botswana - KM600 - 12-19-2024 Mothlokomedi (last remaining Sexhibe lioness) with some of the 8 cubs sired by the Golden Boys. Wow, now that is rebuilding a pride in short order, if I ever heard of it! So many others could use a boost like this, Othawas, Ximungwe, and Tsalala, just to name a few off the top of my head. Wow, that is even worse than the Koppies lone female had it, with 5! Wish her the best of luck with her new situation. RE: Lions from Botswana - KM600 - 12-22-2024 Pretty Boy II RE: Lions from Botswana - KM600 - 12-31-2024 Romeo, Pretty Boy II and finally Waziba. No further news on Sekoti. ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Lions from Botswana - KM600 - 02-07-2025 Despite Romeo, in my opinion, prolly being the least dominant member atleast with Sekoti disappearing, he's actually the brother I see the most updates on constantly being seen roaring on his own during territorial patrols. I remember back a year ago when they went into Marsh Pride territory to beat up Gaam and Tsunami, Sekoti and Romeo made their way back to the Northern Pride whereas Waziba and Pretty Boy II stayed in Marsh Pride territory for a few days, so eventho Romeo and Pretty Boy II are prolly littermates with Waziba being months older, I don't think they share such a bond. Anyways for now these boys are very much still in control and act as a coalition, there was recently a bogus report that Sekoti was found dead but not a single credible person has supported that, nor has any other evidence come out after a month or two. I was recently told that Savuti isn't as popular during the start of the year, I'd assume that's cos many ppl would go before christmas for their family trip or whatever. In addition, guides also aren't there permanently like in Sabi Sands and other places so there's naturally less news to go off. I imagine Sekoti's whereabouts will be made clear as soon as the guides are fully back. |
