RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - lionuk - 05-25-2021 RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Cath2020 - 05-25-2021 Anybody know what happened to all the subs of the Mantemahles after the S. Avoca chased them away awhile back? According to one report, they were not quite 'ready' for the nomadic life, is the impression I got, yet none of the females ran off with them to form a breakaway pride. About how old were they then at the time they had to leave the Plains Camp Pride? I know there were 9. We see that 2 of the males went into SS recently....supposedly chased by the Tumbelas (according to tracks). Now they have disappeared. Where are the other 7 subs? Deeper into Kruger? About how old were they then at the time they had to leave the Plains Camp Pride? You are talking about Plains Camp pride?? In Plains Camp pride was never 9 subs, yet 5/6 (As far as I know maybe you have another info). 4 of them showed up last year in Sabi Sands, 2 males and 2 females, then they returned in Kruger and now again 2 males showed up, .. Females prob returned to their mothers. In Sand River pride where 8 subadults, now only 2 females who returned to the pride and 2 young males still alive. Both PC and Sand River subadults where around/just over 2 yrs old when they where forced to nomadic life, so understandable that few of them didnt make it.. About how old were they then at the time they had to leave the Plains Camp Pride? Yes, the Sand River Pride. They had 9. I'm confusing them with the subs from Plains Camp. The article stated there were 9... but I suppose only 4 are accounted for. Hope the Plains Camp Nomads are safe and survive. It will be interesting to see if they stay in SS, leave to another reserve, or return to Kruger. This male is what I call 'tenacious'! He's holding on at all costs until he'll be too old to fight for his pride, never giving up that fighting spirit, and he must be good at it. It will be sad once he's overthrown because it's likely his last pride and he'd be a nomad for a short period.... Some of his offspring must be subs by now? Saw his post on Facebook and he had just fought once again in less than 2 weeks!
