It was posted by Kirkmans Kamp facebook page at the same day I posted it here. "I've been wanting to capture a portrait of a male lion like this for a long time... His face tells a story, that's for sure... Their territory is shared between our concession and the Kruger National Park, but a recent pride take over by the Avoca male lions has ensured that we see this pride more regularly. For Matt there is nothing more exciting that hearing the distant roars of lions in the early morning and then finding the males, females, and young ones together. There is something so ethereal about seeing lion cubs with their fathers - it is hard to believe that the impressive male lions were once cubs themselves. Hopefully the Avoca male lions remain dominant long enough to allow their cubs to survive and become important members of the Sand River pride." These two Males eventually managed shift their southern boundary line and managed to occupy the Nkuhuma females with great success! On the other side, Dark-maned decided to hang back with the Talamati pride and remained in the Northern parts of territory! ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author
