Mohan Nair

"
A friend of mine sent me this video.... how far are we gonna assault and insult nature... when will the TATR authorities take stringent action on the reckless drivers and guides also the visitors if they are found guilty..."

It says its from Tadoba and the only Tigers I know who have been collared are Gabbar and Choti, if this is choti, there isn't a chance in H*** that she is 85kg. I have never, ever, seen a leopard close to the size of that tiger/tigress, its obviously a large specimen.

Any info @Apollo @Roflcopters @Rage2277

She looks plenty large, hard for me to imagine her being as small as the weight is claimed. I just don't see it....

Just look at this monster Jai next to his female

Varun Thakkar

"There are tigers, then big tigers, then huge tigers and then This guy..... Jay.... from UK (umrer karandla wildlife sanctuary).
Just have a look at his massive size. The female ahead of him (chandi) is nt at all small in size, she is app 9yrs oldd and decently big. But Jay makes her look like a tiny cub. He literally is a baby elephant.

Don't know if this has been posted here before, but this just goes to show how massive some tigers just are!

Massive Madla! wow animals surpassing 250 kg are massive!

RE: Large male tigers from India (Videos Only) - Pckts - 11-12-2015

The male on top of the elephant is ENORMOUS!!!! He looks like a bear, how can he not be over 250kg?

Madla will always be one of my favorites, what a monster he was. I wish we would of gotten info on Hairyfoot, any tiger that could keep madla from crossing territory is something I would of loved to see.

pckts don't get me wrong I never said that tiger was not 250 kg! I think he's the biggest cat compared to humans I've ever seen, the neck on that guy is HUGE!

yeah Madla was something special to me also. hairyfoot would be nice to know more of for sure, atleast a picture or two more and a video!

I know, I was just making an observation my self. Sorry for the misunderstanding.....

@Pantherinae, Madla was large too, although not the largest.

His canine is still the longest record for the wild tigers which is even more remarkable than his 250 kg of solid muscle.

yeah this is what I said about Madla: "Massive Madla! wow animals surpassing 250 kg are massive!"
you know after watching videos of Madla I was extremely amazed by his size. after all he is the largest Central Indian tiger ever weighed (by a scientist) and I'm gonna be honest, he actually looks larger than Munna who I estimated to be the biggest Central Indian tiger, when I saw Madla walk over that road I realized. so either Hairyfoot just had very big paws or he was actually even bigger.

RE: Large male tigers from India (Videos Only) - GrizzlyClaws - 11-12-2015

Hairyfoot was estimated to be around 270 kg, and 280-300 kg for Wagdoh.

But they were not weighed, so Madla is still the largest confirmed Central Indian tiger.

an estimate is an estimate and that's hard to be accurate, I would have though Jai was much heavier and T-24 to be lighter then he was.
personally I don't think Wagdoh is 280 kg and not even close to 300 kg, I could be right and I could be wrong, but the thing is no tigers are weighed over 260 kg (empty) and I see an tendency to throw out massive estimates (not this forum, but others and photographers etc) for tigers. I'm not saying it's impossible, and there are huge tigers out there for sure, I'm sure there are tigers heavier than 260 kg and also lions over 250 kg, but I also know these are few individuals.

We are still a bit skeptical on if Jai, Gabbar and Choti Tara were actually weighed, Copters has come across the email that he estimates tigers in that exact range and since its been a very minimal response on said topic, its a bit fishy. At least with Ustad we have an image of his measuring occurring and better clarification. Dr. Habib has been very discrete with answering follow up questions on scales involved, capacity or any measurements, just one word answers and thats it. So, take those for what they are worth.

Madla and the other tigers could of easily been over 260kg empty.
These scales are bottomed out at 272kg and 227kg
We don't know how much food they had, if they are full and how much they weigh over 272kg. Same with the old hunting records, so obviously 260kg is not issue for tigers to reach on an empty stomach, but obviously its rare, Like seeing a 7ft tall man.

RE: Large male tigers from India (Videos Only) - Pantherinae - 11-13-2015

okey @Pckts yeah weird if they are not been weighed, but would not have been surprised because the weight of especially Choti Tarai is very low and she looks quite big, also Gabbars weight are low.

yeah it's strange they don't carry scales that can take larger weights when they weigh tigers, but in the case of Madla I'm very curious because he looks so big maybe @GuateGojira can explain how he just estimated that Madla was 250 kg.

yeah large tigers can reach 250 kg probably quite more often than lions. although they are far between imo, there are probably tigers in Kaziranga that can reach 280 kg (personally sceptical about 300 kg, but also of the opinion that it's not impossible)  can you  imagine what that would look like.
