https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sciencetimes.com/amp/articles/26761/20200806/cave-lions-modern-day-separate-species.htm They named the 2 distinct subspecies of cave lion
The Beringian cave lion (Panthera spelea vereshchagini) and The Eurasian cave lion . Both had different diets from each other The beringian cave lion hunted horses and bison and the Eurasian cave lion hunted mostly reindeer.
“The team continues to conduct genetic analyses where they 'aim to sequence complete nuclear genomes from several specimens,' said David Stanton. They intend to find genetic markers unique to the cave lion.“

Does anyone know the size of the beringian cave lion?

About the size of the modern African lion or being slightly larger.

Maybe the difference is similar to today's mainland clouded leopard/sunda clouded leopard, chimpanzee/bonobo, eastern/western gorilla.

I’m guessing an average of 200-220kg and a max of 280-300kg

The males mostly got 14-15 inches skull, so the size is similar to the modern male African lions.

Interesting. What’s the largest skull/teeth you’ve seen from a  modern lion and tiger

RE: The Cave Lion (Panthera spelaea and Panthera fossilis) - GrizzlyClaws - 08-23-2020

skull: lion - 420 mm, tiger - 406 mm

canine: lion - 130+ mm, tiger - 168 mm

What’s the largest cave lion skull you’ve seen including teeth how does it compare to a ligers skull or a large lion/ tigers skull.

Wow a 18.7 inch skull and almost 6 inch canines . I guess they needed big strong
Skulls and teeth to hunt large prey like bison ,yak ,young mammoth ,and cave bears hibernating.

The largest skull and largest teeth didn't belong to the same specimen.

What’s the longest cave lion ,tiger, and lion on record.

RE: The Cave Lion (Panthera spelaea and Panthera fossilis) - GrizzlyClaws - 08-24-2020

The largest skull is 475 mm, but the length of its canine teeth is unknown.

The largest available canine is over 150 mm, but the size of its skull is also unknown.

These two specimens lived in completely different period.

The famous holotype of the Beringian Cave lion from Bone Clones got its skull around 380 mm, and one of its upper canine teeth got 120 mm.

Proportionally speaking, the 475 mm skull should have 150 mm upper canine. However, different specimens can have different cranial morphology, some specimens with longer skull can have shorter canine teeth, and some others vice versa.

What’s the longest body length of a cave lion . And lion/tiger. Wasn’t  the longest tiger like 14 feet long or close to it.

I expect a freak male specimen to have the head + torso length about 8 feet without the tail.
