The Matshapiri males reign was short, but crazy. I never have seen male lions with such an incredibly good-looking black-mane. Without a doubt, the Mathsapiri genes are something else.

Does anyone know if the Matshapiri males had any cubs that made it to adulthood? Are there any Matshapiri lineage lions or lionesses still wandering around somewhere? Would love to hear that they were able to pass on their beautiful dark maned genes <3

This is one of the fourways males (fathered by the Matshapiri males). This Lion has two different colored eyes and is indeed rocking the signature Matshapiri dark mane. Very cool <3

"1/3 Torchwood/Fourways coalition males seen at Tskokwane Picnic Spot in Kruger National Park, this is 1/2 offspring of matshapiri males who were once also in Sabi Sand. This male has one eye of each color and a very dark mane, he and his brother were born in 2014 in the Fourways pride" They are currently protectors of the Leupan and Mazithi pride. "There have been moods too of having taken on the Mantinmahles pride. Photographic record made by hanno.eramus.1, 02/11/22."

This Matshapiri male has a quite nice dark-mane. He was quite blond back in the day, around 2020/21.

No info on the origins of Mohawk Matshapiri male? Or how the 2 met up and formed a coalition?

Yea not sure about Mohawk, but there was 1 younger male with them, so 3 young males in total :

Not sure when was this taken, but it might be that this younger male is either Mohawk or Old Lubyelubye.

Kinda make sense if its Old Lubyelubye, so 2 older Matshapiri males left him behind.

Also Mohawk is kinda similar to one of old Nkuhlu males :

Do you have any better photos that show the face of that younger male? It is really impossible to tell if its Mohawk or old LubyeLubye by just looking at the body
