At some point they were thought to have been eradicated from the area due to poaching; however, due to the high density of white tailed deer in the park it seems like a small population is flourishing in the area, judging by the great physique these specimens show. The Chingaza National Park though located at a high altitude in the Andes is also right along the equator, cougars may attain large sizes here due to the already mentioned density of prey items, proving once more that their proximity to the poles has little bearing on the overall morphology they are able to develop. They share the habitat with Andean bears as a sympatric carnivoran, instead of the jaguar. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author Credits Parques Naturales Nacionales Colombia RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 11-27-2020 Llanos specimen crossing a large body of water: the Vichada river, where the Orinoco crocodile can be found, contradicting claims that neotropical big cats wouldn't feel as comfortable in the water as they do if they were sympatric with large crocodiles: *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author Credits to Orinoquiasalvaje RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 11-28-2020 Pantanal male *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author By Uwe Tersek RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 11-28-2020 British Columbia tom *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author By Rolf Hicker RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 12-01-2020 One-ear Utah male *This image is copyright of its original author By alice.e.morris RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 12-01-2020 A large male from the Hato Piñero, Venezuelan Llanos RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 12-02-2020 Santander, Magdalena Medio basin, Colombia *This image is copyright of its original author By David Gómez RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 12-03-2020 Cauca, Colombia *This image is copyright of its original author Corporación Autónoma Regional del Cauca RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 12-03-2020 The king Nahuel *This image is copyright of its original author By Pumas Chile RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 12-03-2020 Stunning and massive BC toms being treed by hunters *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author By Bart Lancaster RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Pckts - 12-05-2020 RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Balam - 12-10-2020 Montana *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author By Jake Cutler RE: THE PUMA - CAT OF ONE COLOUR (Puma concolor) - Rage2277 - 12-10-2020 *This image is copyright of its original author desert_edge_trailcams - Check out this massive mountain lion caught on cam
