RE: Nkhulu males - Ngonya - 03-05-2024 Nkhulu #6 (00:23 to 15:35) Nkhulu #4 (19:24 to 20:55) #4 is looking in pretty bad condition. Special thanks to @Mapokser for sharing LyonLover - LyonLover - 03-06-2024 (03-05-2024, 12:04 AM)Ngonya Wrote: Nkhulu #6 (00:23 to 15:35) Im no expert and I come to this website & these forums to gather information as I have only very recently started following lion coalitions/prides.. So my question would be; Do you know what these guys’ survival chances are ? #4 right now looks like he’s in the same condition Dreadlocks was in around Dec 2023. Is there are chance they all bounce back or will only a select few of these guys make it to really see their prime years (based on what is happening with the coalition right now) ? RE: Nkhulu males - Ngonya - 03-06-2024 Smudge Nkhulu and Sand River lioness in Kirkman's Kamp Lover's Rock... "One of the Nkhulu male lions attempts to rest near one of the Sand River Pride lioness, in the hope of a mating opportunity. However, she appears unwelcoming as she tries to continue to rest soaking up the morning sun. RE: Nkhulu males - Ngonya - 03-07-2024 The Nkuhlu Coalition For the past 18 months, this group of males Lions has established themselves as a force to be reckoned with Consisting of 7 Males, they have the potential to carve their names into the bedrock of the Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand Nature Reserve. Although being seen in splintered groups and rarely all seen together, they certainly are creating waves on both sides of the Sabie River. We continue to watch with bated breath how this story will continue to unfold, and we look forward to taking you all on this journey with us. Unfortunately i believe some of them will not reach their full physical potential and maybe remain a little skinny. But i guess all of them can survive this year to say the least. RE: Nkhulu males - Ngonya - 03-10-2024 5th Nkhulu in Marula Loop road. Walking with some intensity and marking territory as often as he could. According to the author, the reason behind this, is possibly due to there being an high lion density in that area and he had possibly picked up the scent of an intruding male *This image is copyright of its original author By Craig Reidl

His belly is good and full, something must have him bothered, else I'd imagine he'd be sleeping, letting his food settle. RE: Nkhulu males - Ngonya - 03-12-2024 1/7 Nkhulu after feasting on impala kill. Im worried this could be Smudge (#1), the most impressive of the brothers along with Snip Tail (#2). If thats the case of being him, it looks like he lost alot of his mane, but remains full belly. Either him or #5, if its any of them, lost alot of mane. Stress being a dominant male is quite uncommon isn't it? RE: Nkhulu males - Tr1x24 - 03-12-2024 (03-12-2024, 04:04 AM)Ngonya Wrote: Stress being a dominant male is quite uncommon isn't it? As we discuss before, its very likely these guys got infected by something together. RE: Nkhulu males - Mapokser - 03-12-2024 I don't think Smudge is sick. Yes the mane loss is something, but he has never been seen in bad condition. Both ST and him always look as strong as ever. RE: Nkhulu males - Ngonya - 03-12-2024 Snip Tail Nkhulu & maybe Smudge or 5th right behind, at a morning stroll in Kirkman's Kamp - yesterday by Story of Sebas *This image is copyright of its original author
