Did you know that 755M (former mate to the famous 06 alpha female of the Lamar Canyon Pack and current mate to the alpha female of the Wapiti Lake Pack - the daughter of the Canyon Pack's white alpha female) is the only alpha male in Yellowstone's 21-year history of wolf reintroduction to be the founder of two different wolf packs? Spent most of a morning recently along the shoreline of the Yellowstone River in Hayden Valley with the ever-whitening alpha female of the Wapiti Lake Pack and her yearling daughter. Both the mother and daughter are gray wolves, but the mother carries the genes of the white matriarchs before her, and her coat whitens seemingly with each passing month. The white matriarchs before her are her mother, the 11-year-old alpha female of the Canyon Pack and part of the oldest mated pair in the history of reintroduced Yellowstone wolves (9 years and counting), and her grandmother, the famous alpha female 540F of the Hayden Valley Pack .. the whitest of them all! It very very very awesome ! It details everything, including a short story on every collared wolves, the packs members of each pack by year, pictures, etc...
I absolutely devoured the book.
I did (from the stories of the wolves) an experimental genetic table of all the wolves that produced known pups (Those given an number [#] or a name).
