RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - DaveB - 03-15-2023 Thanks @Roflcopters . So as I thought Balram could indeed be Bajrang's son. March/2023 *This image is copyright of its original author Wildlife Institute of India | Mitigating Conflict, for the 42nd time in a year | Couple months back, a tigress from Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh ventured away from the safety of the protected area, and into the nearby agriculture fields. But for the last few days, it's presence has caused quite a stir in the Kalyanpur region. It is completely out in the open and is often being sighted by the locals leading to panic. The tigress hasn't harmed any human so far and is interestingly pretty tolerant to human presence. But to avoid any potential human-tiger conflict, the forest department and team #WTI have sprung into action. The capture operation has begun and we are actively monitoring the animal 24*7, on foot and through camera traps. The rescue strategy has been laid out and in time, the individual will be safely returned #backtowild. Crowd management is critical for such operations to ensure safety of both the tiger and the people. WTI's Primary and Rapid Response teams are professionally adept at doing so and adequately support the forest department with all aspects of human - big cat conflict mitigation. In last one year, 41 such operations have been conducted by us. This is the 42nd operation! Early morning safari at Jhirna zone blessed me to witness a fight between two huge male tigers. Though by the time we spotted them the stronger one had pinned down the other one . This was followed by a stern warning to remind the one who lost how brutal the fight could have ended to be. Post this there was the process of lining where both the Tigers walked in parallel defining the line that shouldn't be crossed . The one who lost was bleeding from the jaw but was well made aware who rules that particular territory and whom not to be messed with. post by : Ragesh Radhakrishnan - Oct/2021 RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Rage2277 - 03-15-2023 Balram looks nothing like bajrang though.. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 03-28-2023 *This image is copyright of its original author It was a mighty kingdom ruled by four mightier males, who’s stories are the stuff of Kanha folklore. The bold and flamboyant Chota Munna, the gargantuan and elusive Umarpani, the strong strapping Bheema and the mercurial Kingfisher, ruled Mukki for years! Powers fell and rose, and with it did the fortunes of the famous four of Mukki. While two perished in territorial fights and one disappeared overnight, the fourth one’s powers waned and is now leading a life in the fringes! While these legendary tigers faded, a new male took charge, Neela Nala. Shy and average-sized to begin with, as he initially forayed from Kanha into Mukki, he has now become dominant and powerful, and the enchanting woods of Mukki are his to command! Only time will whether to lives up to the names of his very illustrious predecessors, but for now, as winter slowly starts receding, Neela Nala shall certainly stake his claim as the frontrunner to the title of ‘Mukki’s King’! post by : Mihir Mahajan - Jan/15/2023 *This image is copyright of its original author if you look closely, he has a wound near his shoulder. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 04-04-2023 *This image is copyright of its original author T46/Baisanghat male I have always heard good things about this amazingly beautiful forest. Finally it was only last week I made a trip to the jungle sparkling with beautiful meadows. I can now easily rate this park as the second best after Dhikala, Corbett. We were returning back to our camp after the evening safari and suddenly we spotted a huge tiger at a distance, initially he was walking alongside the lake referred to as Sounder talab. He was none other than T46 known as Baisanghat male. He is handsome yet very shy and hardly spotted as per the information shared by the local Naturalist. It was a treat to our eyes to watch him swim in the talab. He then walked on the grassland, scent marking his territory. I was fortunate to document these moments with stills and few footage. I believe he is the dominant male of the Mukki zone, ruling large areas of the tourism zone of Mukki. He is currently believed to be the father to several cubs in the Mukki range that includes 2 cubs of MV3, 1 cub each of Sharmili and Choti mada. To our luck we almost got all these families during this trip. As he swam across the lake, our expert Naturalist knew he would cross the fire line so we drove over there and in a few seconds he walked majestically with a slight head turn giving that wild stare into us. I managed to capture these beautiful wildlife moments and it was time to head back to the camp. post by : Praveen Siddannavar Photography. March/2023 *This image is copyright of its original author Kanha Tiger Reserve, is a jungle sparkling with beautiful meadows and mesmerising water bodies. It was end of our afternoon drive and time to head back to the Mukki exit gate. We had a great afternoon drive and took a chance to drive through a route that passes a beautiful lake referred to as Sounder Talab. And to our luck, out of nowhere we spotted a huge tiger at a distance, initially he was walking alongside the lake. And then suddenly he got into the lake and it was amazing to see him swim so gracefully. Light was low and fading very fast, I had to make some images and at the same I was also tempted to document a video footage. I’m sharing this record shot of the tiger swiming, it was by far the best setting I could ever dream off. Amazing backdrop of the tall sal trees, adding to it was a peacock beautiful perched vertically displaying her long feathers and watching the tiger. A teal also took opportunity to make her appearance on the foreground. All in all, by far my best sighting in recent times. This hulk is none other than T46 known as Baisanghat male. He is a handsome dude, but seemed very shy and hardly spotted as per the information shared by the local Naturalists. Later it was a treat to our eyes to watch him walk on the grassland scent marking his territory, I captured this footage and will share shortly. post by : Praveen Siddannavar Photography. So looks like he has moved out of Kolsa altogether? @Roflcopters , @Rage2277 any idea how many cubs Shiva might have sired till date? Is there any info on the cubs that he had with Hirdinala, have they separated from their mother now? RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Rage2277 - 04-05-2023 Ah so the bros clashed it was bound to happen..I wonder if it is the first time mowgli and yuvraj crossed paths..two males same parents but from different litters..mowgli and yuvraj look more alike than mowgli and paras @Roflcopters RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 04-06-2023 @Pckts I doubt it, it seems like both him and Jamuntola vanished from the scene. @DaveB I don’t know Shiva’s official cub count, however from what i gathered. he had 11 cubs with Hirdinala and Kuwani in 4 litters combined. he most likely sired more cubs with other females, unfortunately i have no such knowledge as he remained out of tourism zone 2019 and prior. @Rage2277 this was their first encounter ever from my understanding. Yuvraj seems to be expanding deeper into core with a huge overlap with several other males fighting for mating rights with Maya. feel bad for Maya’s female cub, i hope she survives. it will be a miracle and knowing Maya. anything is possible.
