RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Lipstick2 - 07-03-2024 Marsh Boy Orkirikoi with his small Survey pride As it was said, 2/4 Sopa boys from Oloolaimutia pride - sons of the Mandevus' coalition - entered into his territory but he chased out them successfully. Here are the boys: *This image is copyright of its original author Credit: Angie ThompsonSome more about these mysterious boys - they're settled down and living at a rare sighted area with Olooloitikoshi pride around Cottar's lodge and Oloolamutian pride at Olderkesi Conservancy with young cubs now. This is far down the south-eastern parts of Masai Mara Reserve close to Sand River but sometimes they're crossing to the Serengeti as well, like their fathers (Chungwa&Droppy) did it as it's supposed. They should be the oldest sons of the Mandevus from Sopa pride in 2019. There were so many cubs then subadults in this pride in early 2020's with many male subadults as well, but it's unknown how many of them have survived since then. In any case, it seems these boys are building up as a coalition of 4 brothers. 3 of them: *This image is copyright of its original author Credit: Josh OloshipaAll 4 One of them has a blind eye, but they are already impressive young males anyway. As far as i know, lions (and big cats) can roll both of their eyes independently from their another for a bit/limit, but correct me if i'm wrong. Oh, I have no idea about that, your comment is the first time of my hearing they can move their eyes independently, so I wouldn't be the one to correct on that. Thank you, for your answer though. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Lipstick2 - 07-03-2024 (07-03-2024, 12:49 AM)BA0701 Wrote:I also don't have so much knowledge about this, i'm just basing my opinion mostly on that i've seen many pictures of lions those eyeballs split and were in two different directions a bit. But i wouldn't dare to say that they can move or roll their eyeballs two directions as well, that could be possible their eyeballs just stand apart two different directions on these pictures but they couldn't move or roll them in such way.(07-03-2024, 12:47 AM)Lipstick2 Wrote:(07-02-2024, 11:58 PM)BA0701 Wrote: Is Koshoke blind in his right eye, or perhaps have a crossed eye?No, he isn't blind, only Chongo is one eyed in da coalition. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Lipstick2 - 07-07-2024 2 new unfamiliar males most probably from the Serengeti in Mara's South-Eastern parts who are Olderkesi's new rulers for now officially. It is presumed they might expelled the 4 young Sopa boys (sons of the Mandevus', in a previous post) out from Olderkesi Conservancy, who thus try their luck some elsewhere areas, for example in Orkirikoi's and Survey pride's territory for last time. Also said, these 2 new boys have been frequently seen around Siana lately. Look on the bigger maned male, he has a beautiful mane, elbow tufts and he even has a small hair on his belly too, very impressive even in his such young age. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Lipstick2 - 07-07-2024 Lemoniko as a nomad now (very likely) Still no news on his last brother Kylia, and since then - and Lenchada's demise - he doesn't have so much luck and chance against the Rekero pride's new dominant boys Kijana and Olchore (seemingly) as the Rekero girls also left him alone. They started their journey from the Sankai pride as a coalition of 4 young males, now it seems he's the only surviving member...very unlucky history Otherwise, Kijana and Olchore are doing well, most Rekero lionesses are with them already. Kijana - younger Black Rock Boy - hunted and eating a buffalo at Lookout area: Olchore contact calling to his coalition mate: TBT - a great picture of ex-Rongai pride male Jagged Ear from 2018, father of Olchore. He and his brother Floppy Ear ruled Rongai pride for years before 5 young Black Rock Boys arriving. *This image is copyright of its original author Thanks to Lucy Johnson and Matira Magazin
RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Lipstick2 - 07-07-2024 4th Enkoyonai brother M'wana He also resembles Olbarnoti, as does the tailless Saningo and late Jicho who was fatally and fully blinded at the end of last year. Beautiful Enkong'u in the golden morning sun. He already looks much more like Lolparpit. Is it known, or even surmised on his age? He appears to be a prime male to my untrained eyes. Regardless of age, he is a gorgeous male, and an absolute tank! RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Lipstick2 - 07-08-2024 (07-07-2024, 07:51 PM)BA0701 Wrote:Based on his appearance, he must be at least 4 and at most 5 years old. He's still so young, looking on his mane which is still so light and blondish, and you can see his features will mature and develope very much. He's not in his prime yet, but he resembles very much to a bit younger Seenka and his father young Olerai (who was originated from the area, as it's presumed btw so maybe this similarity is not a coincidence). I agree with you, if he looks so good at such young age, he will make an extremely impressive male lion as an adult.(07-07-2024, 03:57 AM)Lipstick2 Wrote: 2 new unfamiliar males most probably from the Serengeti in Mara's South-Eastern parts who are Olderkesi's new rulers for now officially. His mate/coalition partner need to be 4 at most. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Lipstick2 - 07-09-2024 1/6 young Acaica boys - the oldest one - sons of Olerai/Olekiti and Mara North Males. Probably he's still near his 5 younger half-brothers/cousins. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Lipstick2 - 07-09-2024 Marsh boy Orkirikoi, Survey pride male and their solo protector now as his coalition partner Kichwa son Oloborani had just vanished without any trace.. Although he's definitely being Survey pride male, he also mates with Black Rock Breakaway girl(s) recently RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Lipstick2 - 07-09-2024 Originally 1/5 now 1/4 Kinyangaga boys Kishangaa in Mara Triangle, sons of the Lamai males *This image is copyright of its original author Credit: Lucy Johnson
