RE: Lions in South-Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia - BigLion39 - 12-19-2021 Very sad. The crazies on social media are already throwing around theories without any confirmed information from the reserve. Nuts. Phinda had better get out in front of this quickly. A lion whose story leads us as a human species into an inglorious light. May the name Cecil stand for positive change in the future! These two sweet boys are the two who unfortunately didn’t make it. The young male in the background died immediately after the relocation. After waking up from the sedation his two brothers for some unknown reason ganged up on him and killed him. The young male in the front met his end in March this year when he and his remaining brother tried to take over the territory of the two old males Kwandwe and Monomoholo. They weren’t ready, they didn’t stand the slightest of chance. The surviving male could only flee for his life. This picture was taken 2018 in the Addo Park. Back then they still went by the names Harry and Dick. The third one was called Tom. According to Pete Leyland they were sired by the two males Roy and Nomad. They’re now living at Mountain Zebra NP. Poor guys What happened to Tom, the last of the Addos?
