Still quite the distance and uncommon for them, perhaps Nkuhlu males territory even thought they haven't been in Kruger as often either Wonder what led them there, maybe they chased some males, u have Charleston boys always hanging around their territory and recently NK and Khanya, plus Nkhulus always testing them. Hopefully they get their asses back before Nkhulus realise the advantage they have right now. They have no skittish behaviour in the video so they went there for a certain reason. We just recently got the Nkuhlus "actively" invading their area a couple of months ago, when they were at the toes of the Southern pride. Around the same time they invaded deep into MalaMala, Ndzhenga's territory. Besides that it was mostly the Gijimas chasing then. That wouldn't be any good for their prides, no doubts. Dark Mane Gijima at KNP *This image is copyright of its original author by Jeroen Nieuwenhuis

I have been in the car with my wife and her sisters at the same time, and it sounded a lot like that. New member here to this forum, but I have been following these pages for a long time. I have been fascinated by the Gijimas, but their true origins seams to be a mystery. It has been discussed back in this thread that they are believed to be born around late 2017 to early 2018 and entered the southern Sabi from Kruger in 2022. It appears confirmed that there were only two, DM who is slightly older and LM during the Ndzenga confrontation. Approximately two years prior, the Ottawa break away sub-adults who would be the same age went into Kruger in the same location after Hairy Belly Matimba’s was ouster the Tumbellas. Gingerella returned with one of the mini Matimba/Ottawa males who eventually disappeared, but the second mini Matimba stayed in the Kruger with the slightly older Majingelane/Ottawa Jr. male who was already showing the signs of a developing dark mane. My point being is that I believe the Gijimas could actually be the long lost Ottawa males unless this has been discussed in another thread and they turned up elsewhere in the Kruger or are still considered missing. They are not. Othawas are missing in Kruger, 2 males last seen towards late 2021 near Phabeni Gate, 1 seen back in Sabi Sands with their sister, then disappeared.
