RE: The Birmingham Males - Gamiz - 09-18-2016 BB #4 in bad conditions... Credits to Pat Willemsen ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author Who was? RE: The Birmingham Males - Tshokwane - 09-19-2016 I think it is male #4. That could be from a beat up from his brothers. He's been getting quite the rough treatment from the boys, and I also think the ladies prefer the other males over him. RE: The Birmingham Males - Devlit - 09-20-2016 poor poor boy. looks like number 4 definitely, not a v nice wound! wish they all played nice. Hope he recovers quick, not nice to see him like this! ![]() RE: The Birmingham Males - leocrest - 09-20-2016 any word on the wounded Bboy? edit: saw on safarilive that he is doing much better. still painfully wounded, but healing. RE: The Birmingham Males - Gamiz - 09-22-2016 From Cheetah Plains Private Game Reserve We located three of the Birmingham male lions in the company of the Nkuhuma pride yesterday afternoon. It appears that they had an internal scrap, as the one male was sporting fresh wounds (on top of ones inflicted a few days ago). RE: The Birmingham Males - Gamiz - 09-24-2016 From Cheetah Plains Private Game Reserve We have been seeing a great deal of the Nkuhuma pride and their cubs. At least one of the Birmingham males is staying with the pride most of the time! RE: The Birmingham Males - Ngala - 09-25-2016 Birmingham male, credits to Karin Van Der Merwe from Nkorho Bush Lodge. "A cool and cloudy Sunday in the bush...praying for more rains but the weather looks very promising our side. Once again the Styx caught a Buffalo during the last week just west from the lodge. It is amazing the number of Buffalo being caught by them the last month. One of the Birminghams joined them on the kill, which is a good thing having at least one of the males with the females to protect the cubs. Yesterday evening we had other Lions roaring not too far from here. It might have been either the Torchwood or Talamati Pride or unknown Lions from the Kruger Park. This morning the Styx made another kill on Nkorho...this time it was a Waterbuck. These 3 females turned into killing machines lately... RE: The Birmingham Males - Gamiz - 09-29-2016 Birmingham Boy #4 as seen on September 28, 2016 sunrise drive. His nose wound is looking so much worse. Swollen, infected and oozing. I really wish they would intervene when animals are hurt / injured. It breaks my heart to see things like this Credits to Linda Buckmaster ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: The Birmingham Males - Tshokwane - 09-29-2016 I don't. There's a reason only the best get to survive. Those are also the ones who will procreate the best offsprings, because they themselves have the best genes. In this case with #4, I follow a simple mindset. If he can't stand a simple slap from his brothers, then he's weak. If he's weak, what do you think it will happen when they have to face rivals that will do much more than just a slap?... RE: The Birmingham Males - leocrest - 09-30-2016 that fella looks to be in real trouble. anyone seen comparable wounds? what was the outcome? a week or so without healing would put his eye in jeopardy. |
