That day, our plan was to just head to an area where a female with 4 cubs crosses. When we were on the lake road, a cat was walking on the track, heading to the lake to quench its morning thirst. From a distance, the stripes blended into a black cat n first we thought its the blacky of Tadoba (we were far behind). As we were closing the gap, it became apparent that its a tiger, that too the most shy of all, the new katezhari male AKA Balram. the monent he saw us, he took off and vanished into the thickets opp the tadoba lake. We did try to catch him at the fireline and another area, but being shy he slipped away. After a brief wait, we called ourselves lucky and decided to again proceed towards the area where this female with 4 cubs was seen few days back. Just before taking the left turn towards her area, we decided to take the right turn, just to check out the tadoba lake/road again. Within a min, there was this huge male ducking behind a tree, trying to avoid us. It was Balram again.. He had vanished into the thickets but was apparently scanning to see if there are these strange green beasts with a projection making click noises. Once he realized none were there, he had crossed the track, had his fill and was returning. We caugh him off guard n he just ducked n gave some amazing close sighting. Being shy, he just then got up and sprinted back into the thickets. This picture was snapped when he got up n started running... When we went back to another spot, a passing gypsy told us the female with 4 cubs had crossed. The shy guy actually was a gate crasher that day but also the spirit of our wild party that morning! Hoping for such better times!

RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Ashutosh - 05-31-2021 The legendary Mukhtar, Pench. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Rage2277 - 06-07-2021 somanshu he's on his last legs..looks beat up RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Ashutosh - 06-07-2021 @Rage2277, I think you can see why the forest department had said there was a very good chance they won’t release him back when he was in for treatment two months back. Is it a fracture or has the fracture not healed properly because of some other underlying issue? On the other hand, an older Bheem is doing just fine: RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Rage2277 - 06-07-2021 (06-07-2021, 11:03 PM)Ashutosh Wrote: @Rage2277, I think you can see why the forest department had said there was a very good chance they won’t release him back when he was in for treatment two months back. Is it a fracture or has the fracture not healed properly because of some other underlying issue? seems like he got into a fight again looking at his lumped up limbs and hasn't been able to make a kill RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Ashutosh - 06-08-2021 @Rage2277, if he got into a fight, there would have been other injury marks on his face, body. Except both the paws look ungainly as if someone broke both of them and fitted them wrong. Looks internal. I don’t think the forest department should bring him in unless he strays too close to humans. Let him die with dignity in the wild rather than in some enclosure five years from now.
