RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - BigLion39 - 11-15-2023 MPCP quarter 3 2023 update report has been released. Ill come back and link it here shortly. It was confirmed (which is redundant as we all knew this already) Marsh pride lioness Rembo and Logol/Halftail 2/3 sons were killed by murderous criminal cattle herders. I have no words and don't know what more to say about the situation there. Also, last week, Dada another Marsh lioness and her cubs were treated by KWS/Sheldrick Vets for spear injury. She should be fine. Again, no words for this crap. https://www.marapredatorconservation.org/publications/reports/ RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - Horizon - 11-16-2023 " target="_blank" class="post_link"> Two black rock boys on their morning petrol! He is a member of the famous Salas Coalition. The Kings of Rekero and Tobi prides - one of the largest prides in Mara. This coalition has fought many battles throughout their journey and are still in their prime. Olobor, one of the black rock boys, cautiously approached the family, uncertain of his reception since he usually stayed away. Skepticism proved valid as the lionesses disapproved, swiftly chasing him back to the treeline. Tensions escalated, and Olonkera engaged in a brief skirmish with Olobor, backed by the lionesses. Chasing him to a small stream, a face-off between father and son ensued. Hearing the commotion, Oloimina and Oloorkulup rushed to their brother’s aid, prompting Olonkera and the lionesses to retreat. Beat me to it. This is from last year probably when he caught the spear through his lip and throat. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - BigLion39 - 11-23-2023 Turns out that video of Marsh Boy Orkirikoi might be rescent. He definitely was caught by other males.... again. Hope Kitchwa boy Olbarani is ok. 2 gorgeous, impressive lions. What a shame if he got killed. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - BigLion39 - 11-28-2023 Orkirikoi and Olbarani together with the Salas Pride lionesses feeding on a zebra. Both alive and well after the 3 Kazkaz males who patrol into the southern part of the Mara from Serengheti caught them and injured Marsh Boy (Orkirikoi). Thanks to MPCP and Vet teams he is fine. Hopefully they stick together and are able to leave a legacy with the Salas pride. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - afortich - 11-29-2023 RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - KM600 - 11-29-2023 Title is a bit off, more likely the cubs were sired by Lorkulup or Oloimina as they stay with the pride but Olobor and Oloshipsa would have been mating with the lionesses aswell. Must be considered a super pride at this point. RE: Other male lion coalitions from Masai Mara - KM600 - 12-06-2023 Interesting that the BRBs know they’re outnumbered, well atleast against the Salas males and yet are so persistent with intruding in enemy territory despite already having 2 prides. Seem to be very comfortable over there aswell, seen a video a week or so ago of Oloshipa chilling by himself in Salas territory. Resident males are lucky it’s just the 2 BRBs who want to expand their territory, not all 4. |
