RE: All about Gaur (Bos gaurus) - Ashutosh - 08-06-2021 Bandipur: Satpura: Radhanagri Wildlife Sanctuary (northern Western Ghats): RE: All about Gaur (Bos gaurus) - Ashutosh - 09-06-2021 Excellent Gaur tussle, Nilgiris. The part when one of them hooks the horn below the other one and lifts him completely off the ground is so impressive considering how much they weigh!!! RE: All about Gaur (Bos gaurus) - Incogray - 10-28-2021 Fully grown male gaurs remind me of silver back among other gorilla, they look so massive then the others. Those muscle in them are insane. RE: All about Gaur (Bos gaurus) - Incogray - 10-28-2021 How big is a fully grown male gaur compared to rhinos? I hope to see them in the wild instead of captivity. I bet this Rhino is probably still relative young since it’s horn seems smaller still as well as it’s sex unknown yet it almost looks taller at the shoulder than the Gaur and most likely double it’s weight.(01-13-2022, 10:33 PM)Pckts Wrote:(10-28-2021, 08:21 PM)Incogray Wrote: How big is a fully grown male gaur compared to rhinos? RE: All about Gaur (Bos gaurus) - Lycaon - 03-03-2022 @Pckts Quick question how does a rhino feel like? must have been a nice experience. We weren't allowed to touch him but he did turn around and projectile urinate a foot in front of my wife lol. They actually pee backwards oddly enough. In regards to his size, I'm 6'5'' and I'd say at his shoulder he was probably about 6'. He was really long too, seemed to be as a long as a Jeep Cherokee and just about as wide as the wheel base. He was absolutely gigantic, they were getting rid of him because the female had a calf and he was becoming too dangerous in trying to breed again so they sold him to another zoo for breeding. RE: All about Gaur (Bos gaurus) - Rage2277 - 03-27-2022 RE: All about Gaur (Bos gaurus) - Jimmy - 03-30-2022 Is this a real or fake image, not trying to discredit the photographer bt i couldnt find more clicks of this supposedly 'very rare interaction' of megaherbivores Pic by Mathuranath dey Location: Manas national park ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author Gaurs are said to be the bigger species than Wild water buffaloes but the latter are no joke either, i saw the trophy head of these two, took a quick photo and buffaloe's head definetely look overall bigger ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author Notice also the great Tibetan sheep Argali as well RE: All about Gaur (Bos gaurus) - Ashutosh - 03-30-2022 Don’t think this is fake. Manas does have all the big 4 herbivores of Indian subcontinent. Gaurs typically don’t venture into the long grass and they prefer wooded areas. Even Kaziranga has a small Gaur population. But, they are very rarely seen like Kaziranga leopards. |
