Excellent Gaur tussle, Nilgiris. The part when one of them hooks the horn below the other one and lifts him completely off the ground is so impressive considering how much they weigh!!!

Fully grown male gaurs remind me of silver back among other gorilla, they look so massive then the others. Those muscle in them are insane.

In the book of Dr Dinerstein of 2003 there are a couple of pictures that shows huge specimens. I think you have it too.

We weren't allowed to touch him but he did turn around and projectile urinate a foot in front of my wife lol. They actually pee backwards oddly enough.
In regards to his size, I'm 6'5'' and I'd say at his shoulder he was probably about 6'.
He was really long too, seemed to be as a long as a Jeep Cherokee and just about as wide as the wheel base.
He was absolutely gigantic, they were getting rid of him because the female had a calf and he was becoming too dangerous in trying to breed again so they sold him to another zoo for breeding.

Gaurs are said to be the bigger species than Wild water buffaloes but the latter are no joke either, i saw the trophy head of these two, took a quick photo and buffaloe's head definetely look overall bigger

Don’t think this is fake. Manas does have all the big 4 herbivores of Indian subcontinent. Gaurs typically don’t venture into the long grass and they prefer wooded areas.
Even Kaziranga has a small Gaur population. But, they are very rarely seen like Kaziranga leopards.
