It doesn’t matter, every dominant coalition of males or pride she encounters will try to kill her cubs..

Singita and western sector is actually one of the least packed areas with lions, so for Othawas, is best to stay there.

Again, PC males got "overhyped" as "bad boys" based of pretty much nothing (killed 2 sub females and maybe pregnant Tsalala female) , Nk/Nhenha just killed her 2 aunts, and people still think they are not agressive or idk as PC males, while in fact, Nhenha in his lifetime killed many more lions, but that people like to forgot.

You're right.
However, the circumstances of the Kills for each coalition were different. Nhenha & NYM are trying to take over the Ottawa pride while at least the kill of the Tsalala queen, which is a female that they could probably mate with, appears to have no meaningful explanation.

I definitely have a soft spot for Tsalala queen and will always do. I still can't look back her any videos or pictures. It is just too depressing.  I would say she just confronted PC boys in the wrong place at the wrong time. PC boys are lions and purely innocent so are NK/Nhenha. Love them all no matter what.

Dulini had the Othawas on a Kudu kill today. Unfortunately they are down to 4 youngsters now

RE: Othawa Pride - Cath2020 - 09-06-2022

This is just so unfortunate....but bound to happen.  Seems that the male is still alive.  So, one of the precious females is gone....  Is it one of the older subs or the younger girl?

RE: Othawa Pride - Duco Ndona - 09-06-2022

Its sad but it was bount to happen. They still have 3 female cubs left though so there is still good hope for a comeback.

RE: Othawa Pride - Horizon - 09-06-2022

Any idea how it died?

RE: Othawa Pride - Tonpa - 09-06-2022

No further information given

RE: Othawa Pride - Tr1x24 - 09-06-2022

Maybe is just lost? I guess we will find out.

I assume its younger and smallest girl, she prob struggles to follow this tempo of constantly being on the move, but who knows what happened.

At this point, even if only 1-2 sub females manages to reach adulthood, its a succes, next 4- 6 months are crucial, who will survive that, they have much better chances to reach adulthood.

From Lion Lovers:
Just read the Plains Camp males stole their kill
Not good news for the cub if this is true"

Sad. ..Hopefully the missing cub is hiding somewhere.
