The north floods and areas that you can see Jaguars by boat may wash away. On top of that, you can only see waters edge and can't traverse inland to monitor. So outside of Radio Collars you really will not know where a Jaguar goes when it's not seen at the meeting of 3 brothers. I believe that information may have been written in the book Jaguars of the Northern Pantanal by Paul Brooke. I used to own the book some time ago but unfortunately lost it. The Jaguar ID guide doesn't mention which area they frequented. I know based on this report of one of their captures that they were found in the town of Corumbá in the border area of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. Panthera made a post about them on their IG some years ago. According to their records they used to be rival males who fought each other before coming together to form the coalition: RE: Jaguar Directory - Ngonya - 05-24-2023 Do u know who are these two jaguars in 'Fazenda San Francisco'? @Balam back in 2023; they call em 'Oreia' (ear) and 'Grandão' (big boy or something) and i believe its a male coalition but i am not sure, didnt find anything about them... Yes they were part of a coalition and were included in the paper of jaguar coalitions I linked on the previous page, you can read more about them there: *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author

RE: Jaguar Directory - Balam - 06-12-2023 The Cuachicqueh coalition was sighted today. Over the past few days, they've been seen hunting together, confirming collaborative hunting occurs in jaguars as well: *This image is copyright of its original author Credits: Branco Arruda RE: Jaguar Directory - Ngonya - 06-13-2023 (06-12-2023, 01:35 AM)Balam Wrote: The Cuachicqueh coalition was sighted today. RE: Jaguar Directory - Balam - 06-24-2023 Here are some updates from Porto Joffre from June 2023 involving the dominant males with the most sightings:
*This image is copyright of its original author Odin, who I think may be the largest male currently in the area. He has become more comfortable around tourists and his recent face wounds suggest he has been active fighting other males. By Thomas Schuler *This image is copyright of its original author Bororo still holding strong. He is at the peak of his prime and it's nice to see how muscled and well-fed he became. By Benjamin James *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author Inka, I think he might be Odin's main contender size-wise for the throne in the area, he is massive. He was seen mating with Patricia and feeding on the carcass of a cow that he took away from a female. By Rodrigo J. Cordini Here he is next to Patricia who is not a small female by any means: *This image is copyright of its original author By Benjamin James And of course, the Cuachicqueh coalition (Xingu and Bagua). Here they were seen patrolling together @Ngonya: Xingu is mighty and has officially reached his prime as well. He definitely seems like the dominant one in the coalition given Bagua is much smaller: *This image is copyright of its original author By Rafael Andrade RE: Jaguar Directory - Ngonya - 06-24-2023 (06-24-2023, 08:04 AM)Balam Wrote:Truly great to see those reports of june. Onçafari doesn't track the area of Porto Jofre which is in Mato Grosso, they are only active in Mato Grosso do Sul, but I can make a post with updates from the areas they track if you want. I'm waiting for the new Jaguar ID Guide to be released to have confirmation on which individuals are still active as well as newer ones that I am not aware of. The Cuachicqueh coalition is doing amazing and has tons of sightings, they were recently seen sharing a caiman kill as well. Hopefully, we'll record them hunting soon. Sighting of Xingu today: *This image is copyright of its original author
