Yes, 1 female return to the pride and yes 5 cubs and 1 older male cub around 1-1.5 years old..

Southern males? You mean of 2 Talamatis and Southern male, brother of remaining Southern lioness? They are gone, in Kruger since late 2019..

Southen Avocas took over the Sand River pride in early 2020, after 5th Mantimahle abandoned them. That put the older 1-1,5 years old cub in a strange place on a timeline. Especially as I assume the Sand River young males mentioned above were pushed out rather than leaving by their own choosing. Or did the Southern Avocas mated with the pride lionesses even before believing the male cub is their or something?

That would explain it, if Charlestons let cubs alive after a takeover and it would make her bit older which would explain her surviving later takeovers.

S. Avocas definitely have been with Sand Rivers before start of 2020.. Prob from around mid 2019 after their Sparta cubs where born..

Maybe not yet 1.5 yrs old, but definitely close and over 1 yrs old, born prob around late 2019/early 2020..

Sand River young males are out in Kruger.

Talamatis occured as few Nkuhuma lionesses with remaining Nkuhuma male Dozie, run away from Mapogos and moved north into Manyeleti.. 

Even if some Mapogos mated with Nkuhumas, they for sure didn't mate with Nkuhuma gruop who become Talamatis as they where far away north..


I didn't understand, all cubs sired in 2007 were killed so how can Talamati females born in 2007 ? And some say that they are born in 2006 so mapogos offsprings, Nkhuhuma and Talamati history seem confusing, many people belive different things...

NOt all of the Nkuchuma cubs has been killed.

Lions of Africa - Ntwadumela (1 male) 80´s-1991

Ranger report: Savuti’s legendary Lion King
...There was once a majestic male Lion in Savuti, Botswana called 'Ntwadumela' what a magnificent animal he was. One of two brothers who reigned over the Central Pride in Savuti national park in northern Botswana. The name Ntwadumela in local language means (He Who Greets with Fire). The Lion was so named because of a peculiar and pointed disposition which ensured that once he set his mind to 'kill' and destroy an enemy, it got decimated! For this reason, Ntwadumela was also known as the 'Hyena killer' - not the least because he had an intense dislike for the uncomely creature and would go out of his way to kill them! It goes without saying therefore that Ntwadumela was greatly respected and feared by Hyenas in the territory. In the course of his life, Ntwadumela, was documented to have killed over 36 hyenas!
This was a lion, but not just any lion. His name means " he who greets with fire ", and he was known as "The Hyena Killer". Ntwadumela gained worldwide fame in a documentary called Eternal enemies some years ago about the eternal battle between lions and hyenas.
"He was smaller than his coalition partner/brother Mandevu, but he was still the most beautiful lion I've ever seen. With other lions in his pride he was laid-back, even deferential, and yet he took his duties as hunter and protector very seriously. He had terrific instincts for maintaining the balance of power in disputes and he took extraordinary risks to defend himself and his pride.
Ntwadumela's tour de force style had him charging a raging bull elephant at a watering hole, making a habit of challenging buffalo, and harassing the pride's most able competitors. That qualifies as leading a remarkably brave life, especially in a place where one terrible injury most often results in certain, agonizing death.
Ntwadumela and his brother Mandevu reigned confidently with their pride for several years, before they were ousted by a coalition of younger male lions coming into their prime.
Ntwadumelu and Mandevu like most ousted lions in Savuti, wondered northward from one territory to the next, through a network of territories that eventually requires these older lions to cross a government sanctioned hunting ground.
Trophy-hunters killed both of the long-reigning lions, as they moved from one protected reserve to another in 1991.
"I know that wherever Ntwadumela's skin hangs, on a wall somewhere in the U.S.A., perhaps, the new owners have no idea of the life that this lion lived. The daily heroics, the matings, the battles with elephants and buffalo, and, of course, his almost nightly vendettas against hyenas can never be seen on his fading skin." Yesterday we awoke to some intense male lion vocalisation along the Crocodile River, Mjejane Game Reserve, Kruger National Park. Lions were running all over the place, most of the time in thick bush making it difficult to capture, here is the story and some footage of the events. We first heard a male lion roaring intensely on the Kruger side of the Crocodile River. We went to investigate and found the dark maned dominant Mjejane male looking rather agitated. We then heard via the radio that his 2 brothers were already on Mjejane Game Reserve and had been found not far from the the 2 Vurhami males who were still with the lone lioness. The bigger Vurhami male aka "Mo" had apparently been roaring that morning and had attracted the attention of the 3 Mjejane males. He possibly thought that they were not concerned about the Mjejane portion of their territory after being absent for months in Kruger with their other prides. He was very wrong indeed! It seemed the inevitable confrontation that had been delayed for months was about to happen. The 2 lighter maned Mjejane males were there first and found the Vurhami males and the lone lioness. The oestrus scent of the lioness must have escalated the situation as the Mjejane males were infuriated! The smaller Vurhami male aka "Mbilu" ran for his life while "Mo" looked apprehensive to run but reluctantly followed, sensing the weakness in his brother who was still recovering from his shoulder injury. The 2 Mjejane males were in hot pursuit, we presume that the 3rd dark maned Mjejane male had joined them in the pursuit after high tailing it at top speed from Kruger when he heard the commotion. They eventually caught the smaller Vurhami male in some thick bush and we could only hear the commotion as we presume they broke his spine and he succumbed to his injuries. The bigger Vurhami male must have been very close by and unable to do anything to save his brother. The 3 Mjejane males then emerged with blood on their faces in hot pursuit of the bigger Vurhami male. Something must be said about the character of the bigger Vurhami male, he was scent marking and roaring defiantly as the 3 were on his trail. Eventually only the 2 bigger Mjejane males carried on with the pursuit but they tired and the Vurhami male made his escape. The smaller maned Mjejane male gave up the pursuit early on and doubled back to try his luck with the lone lioness who had followed behind all the commotion.

I finnaly found information about them, they were 2 males who take over Styx pride who accept after some time a sub-adult to join them...
They lose '2 generations' of cubs with Styx pride and they disapear going North letting their South territory without protection...
No more infos after that, the most funny is that the information was here on wildfact sabi sands p.27 if anyone want to read more about theses males...

Thats Big Boy Charleston vs Bent Spine. Theyre not from same coalition. They were young there. I believe Big Boy was in Bent Spines territory. Good fight.
