Seems like it caught a male howler monkey about similar in weight. If so, it's likely the eagle was an experienced female. Steve Townson saw her come out of the canopy with the howler in her claws, meaning she carried a monkey her size for some distance. Very impressive. Thanks for sharing, Epaiva. I wonder if studies have been conducted in that region. Is anything known about their present status? Are they protected in Venezuela? |
