I hope things go well for these three. I'll admit I disliked them in the start for overthrowing hairybelly and putting the Othawa youngsters into the situation they are now, but I think even with their health conditions, having 3 males territorial calling will be good for any cubs we may see in the coming months.

Rangers are speculating that Junior's mom is too old to have cubs anymore, and 2nd is infertile from before, so Sassy might be the only one having cubs in future with Tumbelas.
Subadults are in good situation, doing really well by rangers reports.

I heard some ranger saying that female lions can breed entire life so I am not sure about this. Also doesn't at least 2 old Talamati females which are even older than Othawas have subadults at the moment? I believe so.

New, way younger and much superior numerically Tumbela males will no doubt provide much greater chances to raise next generation in Othawa pride than HB would. It is most definitelly great change for the pride. In fact if Tumbelas would not take over Othawa pride then Othawa pride would probably have huge problem. HB probably would pass away soon anyway and the Othawa pride left without protection could be even whiped out by bigger Mhangeni pride. Also nomadic Nkuchuma and Styx males could be big problem.

Im just saying what they said..
Old Talamati females are speculated to be 13-14 now, so when they gave birth, they where around 11-12..
@TinoArmando yea Birminghams where around 12-13 when they gave birth, but both those 2 females currently dont have cubs, unlike other 3 younger lionesses..
Othawas are now around 13-14..

Yeah, unless Sassy's daughter rejoins the pride later. In her Mapogo's,Majingilane's and Matimba's genes merge, yet this coalition is still as far as we know unrelated to her, that would be a good place for her.
With the exception of Souther Matimbas (the young female's fathers) being born into the same Birmingham pride in Timbavati as oldest Nharu females (Tumbelas' mothers) but with different fathers and few years apart, so they might not necessarilly be cousins. And either way, it is as good as it gets in an big but still enclosed area and density of lions there.

The Tumbela males have spent a few days on the doorstep of Inyati Lodge. They have had a kill, and have mated with the Otthawa female just outside camp.
We have been listening to lions roar every night during dinner and at bedtime.
