Marlon du Toit: " Here’s some Safari Highlights from October 2019, a @wildeyesa Safari to none other than South Luangwa National Park in Zambia.

In the clips you’ll see some of the incredible lion sightings we enjoyed. It was incredible & certainly the best time of year to be in the park for action-packed viewing.
October is the late dry season, just before the summer rains arrive. Animals are pushed to the limits to survive & predator-prey interaction are commonly encountered. "

There are no goodbyes. Wherever you'll be, you'll be in my heart.I’m mourning and celebrating the time we shared together. Your life was a gift to the world.

RIP King SAM
He was old and possibly got into a fight with another lion. He was found badly injured and his injuries were infected. The vets tried but could not save him. He died at the vet department.

Marlon du Toit: " Now here’s a funky-looking male lion for you. Notice the strange colouration? Well, this make lion’s name is “Ginger” and he walks the Mfuwe Lodge region of South Luangwa.

My friend and guest @megaaania got my out to guide her on a private safari in 2019, and we found this striking male lion during South Luangwa’s emerald season a number of times.
You see, his reddish colour is a result of “partial leucism”. There’s a lack of melanin production in the skin cells but not enough to be completely leucistic, resulting in this interesting colour type. Even the tail, typically black-tipped, in this lion is white.
It’s always interesting to come across unique animals such as this when on safaris & adventures.
Thanks to Mfuwe Lodge @bushcampcompany for taking such good care of us."

Marlon du Toit : " SOUND UP for THIS one!!

What a POWERFUL moment out on safari as a male lion steals an impala carcass from unsuspecting lionesses.
My good friend & safari guest @mbaqanga_miller and I were watching the lionesses feeding on an impala they stole from a leopard. The sound emanating from them feeding drew the attention of a solo male lion (not a part of their pride) and he came rushing on to the scene. We were inside an Ebony forest and the echoes of that roar, man it was epic!
Never a dull moment in South Luangwa, what a wild safari destination!"
