This Hyena is in deep trouble if she thinks that she can overpower a cooperative pack of painted dogs. She puts her bottom down in order to protect it from the biting of the pack when she tries to steal a Impala freshly killed by the dogs. "

A lone Hyena did not enjoy the presence of Vultures and chased them constantly.
While the action was fast and furious, it always pay to try ane anticipate and prepare for your photo.
This legendary Hyena was killed a few months later by the dominant Lion in the area. "

this series of images was taken in not even a minute. Before this images were taken, the dogs killed an impala. When they nearly finished hyenas came and tried to take over the rest of the carcass. It went super quick. The one hyena grabbed the head with the spine. Another hyena and the wild dogs followed. The hyena with the head got away. The other one got snatched by the painted dogs and had to defend itself.
Not all images are sharp in this series. Please don’t blame me for that. But it was a action sighting how I like it and they are part of it ?"

Jens Cullmann: " Some action before we can go into the weekend ... on that morning painted dogs killed an impala before. When nearly finished some hyenas came for the leftovers. Obviously the dogs didn’t like to share with the hyenas and the fight for food begun ... end of the story: the hyenas got some scraps!
Have a nice weekend and better keep some distance to painted dogs and hyenas "
