I feel the same way my friend. Really like these lions.
If they had stuck together when fighting, just like the majing, probably they would've won the battles they lost.

Very strange I’ve never seen a lion wait for other lions to attack him like Mr T when the selatis killed him he just waited I believe makhuku and pretty boy where with him they ran but Mr T didn’t run

Its probably more people getting tired of the overzealous fanboys.

Anyway. Perhaps he was just acting submissive hoping to be let go.

In the video Mr.T looks incredibly relaxed, not submissive( he is not laying low or rolling on his back). I have difficulty understanding what really happened as rangers stories contradict.
From MaK Nad PB running away to them being away. I would discard statement that Mak was injured(weak)from the previous encounter and unable to fight. His injuries were not severe and it was over three weeks (more than enough to recover). These lions also didn’t have history of abandoning their coalition members.
I guess that Mr.T had unique personality and a lot of testosterone.

Western rangers reported PB being the least dominant at the time, spending most of his time with the Ximungwe pride while Mr.T and Makhulu were doing the patrolling.

Still, there's no way to know, but before he got injured, the overall view at the time, even from rangers, were that the young Selatis were messing with the wrong lions and didn't know who they were dealing with.

Guides even assumed Mapogo had isolated 1/4 Selati and told others in the radio exactly that, just to end up shocked when they all arrived at the scene and realized it was Mr.T who got isolated by the young males.

So maybe even if PB had not been injured, the end result would be the same and people were misjudging the strengths of the Mapogo and Selatis.

Just look at Nhenha/NK and the PCM, many at the time assumed the younger, barely 5yo PCM wouldn't be trouble to prime NK and old, but legendary Nhenha still in top condition, but when they clashed, PCM easily ousted them.

Agree with him most likely being caught, but the actual altercation always surprised me. Mr T was almost boxing them in himself refusing to give up any ground while the Selatis were just chilling, laying down.

I always wondered why he didn’t make a run for it, as it didn’t look like he was injured at that point, maybe he was exhausted, idk. Even seemed like the Selatis were giving him a chance to escape, but no he stayed right there. I don’t agree with ‘he sacrificed himself for his brothers’ as I’ve heard some ppl say, but I do believe he made that choice of staying while knowing he most likely wouldn’t survive.

There was a report at the time, I think from a Ulusaba ranger or was it a photographer, I don't remember anymore.

But the report mentioned the Selatis chasing the Mapogo off their buffalo kill. Mr.T ran until he couldn't anymore, then he turned to face them.

There were possibly more fights after PB was injured, as speculated by Khimbini, he says Makhulu was weakened and even Mr.T was seen limping days before the fight, as seen in his footage.

After being ousted, PB and Makhuku couldn't even handle Solo & Cleo, and were chased by them. PB later on returned West, met one of the Selati and ran ( there's also footage of it by Rob ).

Selatis were just stronger, reason why they won. Maybe it'd have been different if PB had not been caught, or maybe it wouldn't, but the fact was that after PB's fight, the Selatis were the much stronger coalition.

Anyway, because of the Mapogo's and specifically Mr.T's very aggressive nature, we're prone to assume they'd never back down a fight or couldn't lose here and there, but the other lions were strong too, Mr.T and KT were ousted from Djuma by the 2 Gijima males after all, they heard the roars just a few meters away and stayed silent.

Makhulu ran from Dzunani top back in the day.

So they weren't invincible by any means, even at even numbers. Dealing with young, not yet ready nomads, or ganging up on other lions as 5, 6 strong is one thing, dealing with other prime dominant males is something else.

Fight 4 would be exhausting. Not sure running would work at that stage. @BA0701 Great video, friend.
