RE: Lions of Manyeleti - Mapokser - 01-18-2024 For those doubting, Tristan has posted that the Orpen sub was seen mating with several Mbiri lionesses. As I said particular that growl only happens during mating, I remember Dr. Craig Packer talking about this and saying that these growls don't happen in fake mating, that the male do that very particular growl only when he is mating for real. At this point they may as well rename them the Targaryen pride lol. But jokes aside, once the Orpen is ready to go nomadic and the remaining subs grow to independence, I hope some new unrelated males could take over the pride and finally raise a new generation of more genetically diverse cubs. Why cant the parks work together and relocate males to get more diversity? I hope these animals get more roaming freedom though RE: Lions of Manyeleti - Mapokser - 01-19-2024 They're free roaming, there are no fences to their north, south or east. No need for intervention. This pride is the definition of keeping it in the family...lmfao I'm South African and I get that reference. Then again I tend to go down the rabbit hole of social media a lot so there's also that lol. As for the pride, Manyeleti is part of a ~20 000 square kilometre wilderness area (and that's not counting the Zimbabwe and Mozambique parts of the Greater Limpopo Transfrontier Park) through which all animals can move freely so in time new males will arrive and take over the Mbiri pride. So no need for intervention RE: Lions of Manyeleti - Mapokser - 01-19-2024 Yeah they can go anywhere they want within Kruger. Ncila is probably more dominant. RE: Lions of Manyeleti - Tonpa - 01-22-2024 Old Skorro Female (I think) on her way out it seems Hard to tell, but looks like the same old girl on the video from 3 weeks ago of the Skorros on a kill. RE: Lions of Manyeleti - NLAL11 - 01-25-2024 Latest Tintswalo Virtual Safari. Nharus and Red Road sighted very far north (right outside Tintswalo Lodge). Not sure of the timing but them being so far north probably coincides with Mandevu and Ncile being in Kruger. Vestment has shown RRM there near Khoka Moya Dam for last three days . The area we normally see Mbiris |
