Leopards are the most successful of the big cats. And a very important factor for that is their versatility as predators, so is funny how you dismiss "lesser" prey when in fact, they're the staple for the species. Big prey is mostly taken opportunistically, but mainly when lions and tigers are absent. Is not a matter of videographers being good, is a matter of luck and opportunity. RE: Leopard Predation Thread - AlexE - 08-13-2018 deleted post Thursday, October 5, 1995 We are a subdued group driving back to camp. On the way, we see the carcass of a dead hyena wedged high in a tree. This is a suprise. Hyena are not often a meal for leopard. http://www.netsnake.com/africa-tour/af1005/af1005.html I don't believe that leopard killed 0 hyenas 0 wild dogs over the past 20 years.
