RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pckts - 10-24-2019 (10-24-2019, 03:38 AM)Roflcopters Wrote: I don’t think the Forest Department had much of an option after he was linked to the death of a 14 year old girl, he would have been poisoned or killed by the locals. I feel like this is a much better route to pay homage to the king of Kanha, one of the most legendary tiger that has ever lived. They're more upset about the lack of evidence and due diligence that wasnt done in the determination. They said there were 3 different tigers in the area as well as some other possible claims which I wont get in to. It's all speculation at this point and it obviously wont change anything now. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 10-24-2019 T2, another tigress and Munna were all present apparently where this incident happened and since he was the only male that was struggling to hunt, they suspected he was more likely the culprit and if that is the case. this ultimately worked out in his favor. Kanha won’t be the same without Munna, that’s for sure. on the other hand, i’m happy he lived his life to the fullest and FD made a great decision to keep him alive. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pckts - 10-24-2019 Leopards are also present and some have claimed a rape kit should of been implemented or a proper investigation as to a cause of death. I'm also not sure that putting an animal that's lived it's entire life in the wild behind a cage and watching it slowly deteriorate mentally and physically is better than death. Like what happened with Ustaad or Bamera will also happen to Munna as well. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 10-24-2019 Damn.. you’re right about that. poor Munna. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Ashutosh - 10-24-2019 That is just pathetic. Seriously, no pictures should be allowed and no tourists get to see him like that. There really needs to be a dialogue within the conservation circles about cases like this. In recent we had shared about tiger migrating and settling from one park to another, miles away from their birth place. Such cases has been observed quite often in sub-adults and another case came in a light where Young male was seen in Umred-kharandla-pauni Wildlife Sanctuary. This Young male is none other than son of T-13 Tigeress from Tadoba. Born to T-13's third litter along with one female cub were quite often sighted with their mother last year. Another case of Migration from Tadoba to Umred has shown urgency of protection on corridors. He was 12-13 years old, and the autopsy if I remember correctly said it did not find poisoning.
