MALAMALA TODAY: July 18th. 6 lion sightings: 2 of the most used phrases today: "They're back!" and "He's back!" The first refers to the return of the aging Manyelethi males- the individuals with the dark mane and the scared nose were found east of the Sand River in northern Charleston. The second refers to the fuller maned Matshipiri male who joined up with the Fourways pride this evening along the northern parts of our boundary with the Kruger National Park.

The lioness and sub-adult male cub of Fourways Pride ascend a large termite mound to scan and try pick up the scent of a large herd of Buffalo.

As the lone Matshapiri male is with Fourways and the 2 sub adult males are coming to age, all three can form a coalition if any other dominant males (Mantimilanes or some others) take over Fourways pride

Yeah The young Avoca males are mating with the Mhangeni breakaway\Kambula females, and claimed their territory. +
The matshapiri male has not been seen at Londolozi for over a month (after the fight with the 2 Majingi males)

@Fredymrt that's crazy that they took over the pride, now the avoca males have 3 brothers in the Kruger if they come do you think they would be able to their brothers? @Tshokwane

Matshapiri male tried to attack the leopard. I thought leopard was gonna die. But somehow leopard was able to save it's life and got away.

The lone Matshapiri male was found recently, moving rather erratically and contact calling incessantly, possibly in search of the six Ntsevu lionesses. Having recently lost his brother due to injury, it means a time of uncertainty ahead for this male.

He looks impresive. A bit thin, but I've always thought he is an incredible good looking male lion. Is one of my favorite lions. Sorry about his brother Mohawk mane like Mr T. I liked very much this coalition.
