Somebody asked on Wild Earth Feb 4th Sunset drive which prides they see in Ngala (around 10 minutes into the drive) and the answer was basically they see mostly Birmingham pride who is centrally located on their land and at times they see Nharus from SE, Scorro from E, Avoca from N and Breakaways from west (I assume some might have been seen some time ago). That confirms Birmingham Breakaways are west of the core Birminghams. There might another split with the youngsters kind of led by the white young male (besides BYM if he is with them) spending time away from the core group, I guess somebody could call that group breakaway creating confusin. I will call them white group fr short, as long it involves both leucistic youngsters, if those females stay together as pride, we can't call them that then though.
Can some enlighten me on the numbers though? There is
2 Ross Males
5 adult lionesses
2 (1,1) cubs with the adults
3 (1,2) newest cubs
1 Birmingham Young Male who has resisted to be kicked out completely
8 sub-adults (the white group)
that would be 21
there have been 2 sub adults females together close to the core of thep pride in recent weeks, were they splintering from the 8 of the white group sorta coming back or would those be 2 more individuals, making the pride 23 individuals total, for now?

I think its 21, those two sub-adults who were on their own should be included in the 8

Was watching the WildEarth stream this morning, the new cubs don't seem to be in the best condition, they're all missing hair on their tails. One has a small missing patch of hair on its left side and another is missing a huge patch of hair down its back.

That's sad. That dot on the side was there for some time though, that might be something else causing it to be hairless.

Not necessarily. Othawa cubs for example survived it. We need to wait and see.

Watching the footage now, the one with the manged back is a little male. The two little female can be distinguished by the distinctive dot on the let side of one of them.

The 3 little cubs can be also differentiated by different patterns of missing fur on their tails. They have more patches of missing fur on not always visible places like their legs, but those can change over time and you would nearly always recognize them from each other before going for those.
The No-Dot female cub has on an off screw like pattern on the tip of her tail, doesn't seem to have any obvious patches of missing fur elsewhere atm - this cub seems to be the most adventurous.
The Black Dot female cub (I mean their mother is called White Dot, so as a placeholder) has that obvious contrasting dot on its left side, she also has more pacthes of missing fur, some missing fur on its back, but nowhere near the extent of her brother, which could help to distinguish her, if the dot is not visible. The fur is missing on just the tip of the tail, more fur left than her sister has. Seems equally boisterous as her sisters, both female cubs seems to be bit paler than their brother (might be the recessive gene espressing itself?), but none is a particularly dark one anyway.
The male cub has that big patch of missing fur on its back and is a little bit slightly bigger already. He seems to be quite timid, often following the rest of one of his sisters rather than venturing on his own. Doesn't seem to instigate playful fights as much as his sisters do from what I have seen so far.
Clip footage from WildEarth, there is much more minutes in Feb 6 Sunrise video (time logs below the videos). The resilient cub not letting go from the mother tail is the No-Dot female cub, at the time only one out, her siblings took long minutes to join her from the bush/den after a scare. You can see her missing fur tail pattern even at the sneak peak of the video.

Not sure what happened between the 1st of February and the 6th, but it seems the rest of the sub-adults have left the H7 Highway and now the White Male remains alone, looks like he has gained a wound on his shoulder too (if that picture is recent).
