And so what ? When you are looking at the Mohammed Shujath's instagram site, you notice a clear majority of tiger photos. Because he's living in India or because he's biased towards tiger (no problem about it) ? He just expresses his own opinion.

And this very biased photo is absolutely not the best one to show Earless at its best moment. We know very well it had very tough times (no use to come back about it). To be more objective I prefer this one...

What does it matter where he lives or what photo he's posted. He's seen Earless and many other lions along with Wagdoh, Bheema and many other Tigers. I suggest you don't make claims about someone being bias or not without proof and nor would it matter. You see them in the wild and you come to your conclusions, its very easy for someone like yourself to claim they are bias but that may have more to do with your own personal feeling than the person who answered the question.

About #228, #227 and #226: he (Shujath Mohammed) is just a photograph with no one particular zoologist competence. He just expresses a perception and an opinion, and for what it's worths... Dislike But perhaps it's you who are biased to post only this photo of Earless when you know very well it was (and is) much more impressiv than that at its best. You were too happy to post one partial opinon (Sorry for you, it isn't Carnivora forum).

So someone has to be a zoologist now to have a say on the differences they notice between the cats. I'd guarantee that He's seen far more wild cats than 99% of the zoologists you can speak with.

That is literally the post where the question was asked and btw, there is another post on this thread from someone else who also said Wagdoh is larger than any Lion He's seen in the mara.
And yes, this isn't carnivora but you are sounding like some of the poster I come into contact with there. Stop being so sensitive, this is a comparative cat thread and that is comparison between some of the largest of both big cats, you don't like it than that's your prerogative.

This is a comparison thread. The instagram post was anecdotal and subjective. Both fair points. However, the foul language and accusations of bias are not warranted. Please don't bring personal qualms from others places here.

I have a challenge for you if you're up for it?
You should see if you can find a 600lb Lion with body measurements and we can compare him to the 600lb'er Brander mentions. 
Make sure you do your best to find not only the animal but information on how it was obtained and the protocol used.

Great Pictures. Note the weight was a estimate(fair estimate in my opinion).

It is weird that Kirby provided slightly different information for the same lion in other source (specialy the tail length), but as Kirby was a hunter there is a possibility that he also had the habit of hyperbolize in some cases. Check this far more detailed table from him:

The real total length was of 307.4 cm, although the tail was short. Interestingly that Kirby estimated this lion at over 500 lb, about 100 lb less than the largest tiger of Brander.

the forearm on this lion is slightly smaller and Lions do tend to taper more than Tigers but Kirby might not be as familiar with weights.
Here's a 500lb lion with a total body length of 9'7"

so I still believe this Lion mentioned could be near the 600lb mark or more. If we compare either to the Sauraha Male, both are a bit larger than he.
