One of the three magnificent young Jock males at Kruger National Park. What a gorgeous specimen! As per Big on Wild. He's the biggest of the young Jock males.

Hello everyone, in fact if I agree with @TinoArmando que these are Shishangeni males, the photographer had told me that in this sighting there were 5 males nearby, but she did not specify how close they were and there is around the doubt that they were Gomondwane males, So I asked Jean Graham (DiscoverKruger) if the Gomondwane males had been seen near the location the photographer told me about and he said no, that those should be the Shishangeni and Vurhami pride. ..

Sad news comes from KNP
Male lion found dead at Mpondo dam.

Such a shame. This male lion sighted possibly dead near Mpondo dam looks really very healthy and well feed.
Besides from this angle and distance, I haven't seen any scars and any injuries. Which could be the reasons?

"A very very sad Sighting indeed.
We sat with this Lion for some time. He was on his way out..
When we 1st saw him, he was in a terrible state, as his lower Jaw was completely Broken and Hanging. Must have been in a Fight or his Prey got hold of him.
We watched him looking at the Antelope across the dam, yet could do nothing.
We watched him watch us, before he took his last breath and his head fell to the Ground. His mane still moving as if he was running gave us hope, but it was just the wind doing its last tricks... It was really sad to watch.
Using the Binoculars, I saw his eyes fade away, pulling back into the eye sockets...
In the end, I felt good to be there, as I know he used to be the center of attention among all photographers, and I could take the last one. He knew we were there.
Rest in Peace Giant. You will not be forgotten."

Yes, from what I read in the original publication he was found in the Mpondo Dam!

He was found near Mpondo dam.
At least he left a good legacy through the KNP alongside the other three S26 males. He look very skinny from what you can tell. I wonder which might be the cause of his death!!
He passed away at the age of 9 years old. Very early considering that he was still on his prime.

Maybe a hunt gone wrong, internal injuries causing a sudden death. Post i read earlier said he looked well fed
