Accidentally posted this in the wrong sub.

Looks like Avoca males recently were seen moving into Londolozi for the first time. Not sure if significant, they look kind of young to be making such a move.

James Tyrrell: " This pair had taken down an elephant calf the night before, and the blood on the face of the lion on the right tells of how he had just finished feeding.
As mighty as elephants are, there are situations in which individuals - particularly the young - are vulnerable to lion predation, and in certain parts of Zimbabwe, elephants make up around 20% of the lions’ diet. "

" Into the eyes of a beast ~⁣

There is something soul-stirring about being at eye level with a Lion - one can almost feel the Cat's stare piercing right into you.⁣
And when you are only a few feet away, one almost feels trapped in its gaze.⁣
With modern advancement and new state-of-the-art photographic hides, one is now able to look into the soul of a Lion.⁣
This Lioness was photographed at the Umgodi Hide at Zimanga Private Game Reserve in South Africa.⁣"

"More than 117 snares were removed today in Zimbabwe's Charara Safari Area. Our partners report they haven't seen snaring this bad since 2010. It's likely this is representative of the impacts Covid-19 is having across Africa as income opportunities for locals have dwindled."

Not a good look for the lions there, expect more deaths to come

RE: Lions in South-Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia - Spalea - 07-11-2020

Jens Cullmann: " ‘Sunset shadows’ ... Lions are primarily nocturnal or crepuscular predators (becoming active at twiglight or before sunset). They spend much of their time resting, often up to 20 hours per day. They rest for lots of different reasons, including energy conservation, lack of prey or to avoid the heat of the day. These two young cubs enjoy the sunset and play. "
