RE: The Birmingham Males - Spalea - 05-02-2016 @Devlit: Welcome to the forum ! The Birmingham males are a lot of bit particular, I don't know exactly why... But really fascinating too ! Good travel into their world ! They were all rather flat, except for the one male who popped his head up for us." Images by Andrew Khosa *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author From At Close Quarters - Photographic Safaris, Rulers of the North by Joshua McPhail: "After finding some lion tracks, we followed them until we found a large male lion, one of the Birmingham coalition, sitting close to small pan. He yawned and looked towards us in some beautiful early morning light which provided some wonderful photo opportunities." *This image is copyright of its original author "A nearby watering hole provided plenty of photographic action as a breeding herd of buffalo quenched their thirst, soon joined by an elephant. We then headed off in search of the Birmingham coalition of male lions who rule the northern parts of the Sabi Sands. We found the three of them sleeping in an open area. We left the sighting for a brief sundowner stop before heading back, and were just in time to photograph them as they woke up, yawned, groomed and as if in a finale, roared all around us. What an experience!" *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author Photo and information credits: Joshua McPhail "Have had a great start to our #BigCatPhotoSafari, Lion & Leopard on both of our first 2 drives. Here's a shot of one of the Birmingham boys this morning from some of the machine gun fire" *This image is copyright of its original author

She wasnt overly impressed, and fired back at him. Stunning action image captured" by Andrew Khosa *This image is copyright of its original author From At Close Quarters - Photographic Safaris, Daybreak at the Den by Joshua McPhail: "We then headed to a nearby watering hole just as the sun was setting and found two Nkuhuma lionesses with a male from the Birmingham coalition. He gave us a great show as he went to the waters edge to drink before settling on a granite outcrop. We positioned the vehicle at eye-level which allowed us some amazing opportunities, and our guests were ecstatic." *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author
