RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - Spalea - 10-14-2015 *This image is copyright of its original author From a Beck Danielle's painting I photographed at the "Artistes français" exhibition in november 2014 : we can immediately recognize Grimace...I liked Grimace, he had a particular look. RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - Tshokwane - 10-14-2015 I'll give a look into this, but I think Earless is one, if not the youngest, of old Notch sons. Of course, with the high record of cubs this coalition sired I wouldn't be surprised if there is some other son of Notch around. But confirmed, he was born in 2011, feom the Rongai pride, and in his facebook page it says old Notch was his father. As for Grimcae, I have nothing to say. Lived like a warrior(more so than his brothers) and died like one. Proud of him. RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - lioncrazy - 10-14-2015 @majingilane I really just follow lions from Sabi sands(I am trying to learn more about all lions) why was grimace a warrior more so than his brothers? Just curious I only know what's on this thread about these beautiful males I will say they are very interesting tho there look is way different than Sabi sands lions and I have yet to hear about lions killing each for land like in.sabi sands RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - Tshokwane - 10-15-2015 Apparently yes, he was more agressive than his brothers. And although this may be a first time for one of these lions dying and being showed here, it's common. In fact, I've read that some times coalitions in that place like the Serengeti or Masai mara, have even a shorter tenure of dominance, sometimes because they form smaller coalitions. RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - Tshokwane - 10-21-2015 Rekero Camp-Asilia Africa Earless breeding with Rongai Pride female..maybe his sister...Hes acting like the pride male since the Notches abandoned the pride...photo credits onesmus *This image is copyright of its original author G3N Photography: *This image is copyright of its original author I really like this boy. He does what he has to do, and does not ask permission or apologies to no one. Amazing young male, a real example. RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - lioncrazy - 10-22-2015 Earless I heard he is a big ol boy and he is paired up with a older.male but he still is in charge this true? RE: Lion king Notch and his famous 5 sons - Tshokwane - 10-22-2015 I think they are still together. But when it's mating time, the males set apart, otherwise there will be a fight. About the dominance, despite his young age, I wouldn't be too surprised if Earless was a bit more dominant. I don't think dominance is much of a big thing among lions, it's only expressed in mating rights and the ownership of food, but maybe his youth will give him more drive and energy than that of the old male. From Notch the Lion-King of the Mara and His Five Sons facebook page: Caesar son of Notch today .They seem to be staying by the river now in an area called look out after abandoned most of their large territory which was almost half of the park .Guess they are older and just want to settle and stability but their number has dropped from 6-3.They Still have 3-4 prides along the river and near the river all with young subs and cubs .PC N Muya *This image is copyright of its original author Fast asleep in the late afternoon sun - one of the Notch boys.... Nice to see alot of new members coming to this forum a big welcome from me, also the former guy's keeping up The great posting! sad to see Grimace pass away, did not know that he had died untill i read it here, he was just not been sighted for some time when I was there, but the guy's are older now, they must have weared themselves out with such large territory over The last years fighting on all fronts, just a matter of time before The three guy's left are gone aswell. The guides at The Mara said this aswell. Just going to add something: I saw them and they are huge boy's, dwarf other males from The Mara.
