" At Kirkman's Kamp we are lucky to be situated in the corner of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve which borders the Kruger National Park, allowing animals (like lions) to roam freely and visit the Sand River which is the lifeblood of this area during drier times.
Last year we had 8 different prides of Lions which spent time on the areas we traverse, however this morning we were lucky enough to find a pride which has ventured onto our concession for the first time - the Mhangeni pride with the Othawa male.

A great sighting to start off the Lion viewing for the year 2020."

Well cool, Sabi Sabi isnt that far from there.

Mhangeni pride is very weird, they are acting like nomadic pride, what, just week ago they where seen far west in Savannah reserve, Othawas territory, and now they are far south..

So yes, this confirms ur discussion few days ago, their territory in Kruger is indeed east of Kirkman's Kamp.

Generally althrought it is still single sighting of them in that arena (at least as far as I know). Rest of pictures from that lodge was Mantimahle so it might be that Avocas just started moving to that arena now as Mantimahles moved elesewhere.

Well thats the first camp east of Kirkman's where they could be seen, prob didnt venture that far before because of Mantimahles.

Them beign that far east is prob the reason why Othawa male and Mhangenis came to Kirkmans in the first place.

Its possible that they leave Kirkmans for good and establish themselves in this territory now when Mantimahles are gone from there.

In Kirkmans they have 2 females of Sparta pride, 1 has a cub and other is infertile, i wouldn't be suprised if they abandon them.

they've been in this area before, they caught a warthog there few months back... there is a report of that sighting in the site "latestsightings", i think it was in black rhino reserve... and they have been seen coming in and out of kruger. I think they will return anytime soon to kirkman kamp and they will kick any male intruder!
