RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - shaileshsharadnaik - 12-31-2016 (12-25-2016, 03:16 AM)Roflcopters Wrote:hello friends, Narsimha male is not the father of Maya cubs. Maya\'s cubs are born in June 15. Back then narsimha/navegaon male wasn't in picture in Tadoba range. That time Katezari male and Saturn were regularly visiting Tadoba lake and area. So the cubs are either from katezri male or Saturn. But From the looks, Maya's male cub is similar to katezari male. At 1.5 years, he is large like Katezari male is . In my opinion Katezari male is the father. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 12-31-2016 Hi Shailesh bhai, Namdev was the dominant male of the area at that time and he certainly is the father of Maya's cub. from Feb/Mar/April last year, Maya mated heavily with Namdev and i believe she concieved right before Namdev dissapeared (early june 2015) and when she gave birth to the cubs on July/2015. Namdev was nowhere to be found. Namdev jr grew up without his father's protection and a survivor against all odds. a true prodigy of his father. credit also goes to Maya for being a phenomenal mother. I think he's ready to begin his new journey on his own and Maya is ready for a new litter. Namdev was doing so well last year, he had accomplished a lot as a male tiger (2013 - may 2015) and i suspect that his expansion had a lot to do with his downfall, he might have faced the backlash of the younger males that came heavily banging on his door and now evidently, all the former territories of Namdev are now controlled by Katezari's two sons. what makes this interesting is the fact that both Katezari and Namdev were hefty rivals and their rivalry dates back to June/2013. *This image is copyright of its original author Notice the summer weight of both males, Katezari is the bigger male in the back. (june/2013) *This image is copyright of its original author a very powerful Namdev *This image is copyright of its original author both going seperate ways after the fight, even though the fight was very minor. *This image is copyright of its original author Namdev in late 2013, despite being at his weakest. you could tell he's a large framed tiger with a very long body. *This image is copyright of its original author a very powerful Namdev (September/2014) not even at his full potential, his winter turn-over was amazing leading into 2015. *This image is copyright of its original author february/2015 - reached new heights and all year long, even in the summer. he maintained a very heavy physique. *This image is copyright of its original author the mating with Maya (February/2015) ) - I guarantee you, this is the heaviest and the most powerful looking Namdev at his peak. *This image is copyright of its original author May/2015 weight, summer weight of Namdev. *This image is copyright of its original author Katezari and Namdev May/2015, max potential weight of both males. *This image is copyright of its original author May/2015 any angle you look at it, Matkasur and Kankajhari both laid hands on Namdev and took out Namdev at his peak. V7 better be ready for Kankajhari, if he gets intercepted. it will be disastrous. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Tshokwane - 01-01-2017 Credits to Arijit Sett. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 01-02-2017 *This image is copyright of its original author - Scion of Panderpauni - An elemental part of the whole he is... the very whole that encompasses a large land-mass with life-giving water-bodies abound; the very land-mass where herds of spotted deer graze to the morning mist, when the first rays of the sun shine down on the meadows and light it up as if it were in conformation with almighty's ordained moment of peace with the nature he created; those very dirt tracks that raised the mighty cats of yore- Hill Top Male, W Male, Jabbar, Nira and many more; that very land that is the kingdom of Nira's power-daughter, Maya - a name that shall be immortal in Tadoba's history. He is that intrinsic remembrance of an unsuccessful mother's labor to bring her young to life and beyond; of that very remembrance for her that she has to prove her ability to rule what is god's gift by not just begetting, but making them beasts of legendary proportions. This young lone prince's innocence manifests in everything he is - that lone youth whose time started with two other siblings who were lost in time; whose only asylum is his enchantress mother, who time & again leaves him to remind him that someday each is to his own; whose joy knows no bounds when his mother, understanding his loneliness, stalks him playfully; who has understood that sometimes his protector needs her time and thus, learns to play with himself, even if it is with a fallen bark. Some call him Romeo, but otherwise he is known as T12 or Maya's only cub. This scion of Panderpauni, with all his successes and tragedies, is a grim reminder of what our wild world has come to be - patches of forests with rich prey density that attracts equally powerful males who battle it out with no consequential result that shapes the destiny of that land. For this lad, however, that brings a degree of resilience with which he survives - each day as it comes; while older and more powerful males attempt their maneuver in their conquest of this tiger heaven. Will he return to his innocence; or rise above it to prove to be a true scion of Panderpauni, just like his mother did; ruling the meadows and lakes of Tadoba's forests? Time, Oh! Time - I await your verdict.. *This image is copyright of its original author The new kids on the block, the two cubs (one male and the other female, just like her last litter) born to T7 or Choti Tara is the ultimate price currently in the Tadoba range for photographers, given the mother's boldness to move these cubs around in the presence of gypsys. Although, we had seen the family early on in the trip, we were quite eager to have a solo sighting of this family, which eluded us the first time, where over fifteen vehicles had crowded when she stepped out to present her little ones to the shutter-bugs. Planned to perfection was this sighting, executed to success was this last drive. Since I was keen to catch this family, we had to be first up at the gate to enter the park as soon as it opens. Another condition to success was no presence of vehicles from Khutvanda gate at Khatoda allowing us to be the first to enter her territory. While all this worked to perfection, as we entered Kosekanar, a stream of pugmarks could have put us away from this target. However, we were quite keen to keep our focus on this family and that kept us from being distracted. As we approached the area where we knew the family was seen last, the Wildlife Institute of India vehicle tracking this collared tigress swerved out of a thin road. We knew the action was on. At the very next bend, there she lay on the road resting... waiting for her cubs to step out. And we didn't have to wait too long. Out came the little ones, with one crossing over mama and suddenly halting there watching us. The mother chose to rise and that lifted the little body of this cub and it dropped itself quite skillfully on the ground. Now, as the mother walked, it chose to follow the mother - All in a file.. It was only later when we exited the park and discussed with the WII team that we were told jokingly that just before our gypsy came in, they had discussed the possibility of her stepping out as soon as tourist vehicles start coming in. Nature has its way with surprises and rewards... *This image is copyright of its original author Narasimha - November/2016 *This image is copyright of its original author Tadoba tigress from 1995 - unknown location *This image is copyright of its original author Habitat shot of Tadoba - Jamni area (May/30/2014) RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 01-02-2017 *This image is copyright of its original author BasavanaKatte male tiger/Gowri Shankar with a recent leg injury and was seen limping after a fight with Raja - Dec/2016 *This image is copyright of its original author a Young BasavanaKatte male - February/2014 *This image is copyright of its original author Basavanakatte male with female and two cubs - October/2016 *This image is copyright of its original author Raja - the King of Bandipur, every year someone predicts that he will be taken out. what they don't realize is that he has killed three rival males till date and has always dominated the Tourism zone since early 2009. as a younger male, he was first photographed in Agasthya's territory (late 2008) and sometime after, his sightings grew and by early 2009. he had taken over all of Agasthya's former territories. believed to be the son of Agasthya and the dominant male from the litter. 8 years later, he's still the king of Bandipur and those that doubted him can see the results. Gowri Shankar/Basavana Katte male has dominated all the other tigers in the tourism zone according to the Bandipur FD and Raja is the only male that can go head to head with the young King and for good reason. Raja is the father of Basavana Katte and hands down, both are two of the strongest specimens of Southern India. they say Bandipur-Nagarhole-Wayanad-Mudumalai cluster has about 570 tigers and if you divide them all, Bandipur has considerably one of the largest population of tigers and dominating in a highly active area is truly a remarkable feat for any tiger. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 01-02-2017 Born to Katezari male and Jamunjhora female on April/2012, Inspired by Jignesh Patel's original photo. I decided to make a collage of Matkasur and here's how you guys can follow his life through pictures, from a young cub to a dominant male. also keep in mind that during the time of May/2015 - September 2015 (Matkasur had already achieved the dominant male status and by 2016, he started to expand his territories even further). *This image is copyright of its original author he has certainly come a long way from looking like this young male (below) *This image is copyright of its original author and what he is now (below) *This image is copyright of its original author near Kolara gate - Dec/2016 *This image is copyright of its original author transforming into a big male tiger with strong forequarters and at 4.5 years of age, he dominates the area spread from Vasant Bhandara across the tyre road till the Tadoba lake covering areas of the now vacated Jamni Village, Jamni Lake, Kolara buffer area (now called Kolara Zone II), Ain Bodi, Compartment 97, Hill top area, Jamun Bodi, panch dhara, and at times up to the lakes of PanderPauni. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pckts - 01-03-2017 @Roflcopters Do you know the status of Waghdohs many Cubs? RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 01-04-2017 Sonam and Lara both have cubs with Bajrang, Shankar and Bhola the two male cubs from Madhuri's last litter with Wagdoh rule Adegaon back side and Padmapur buffer, both have overlapping territories around Agarzari as well. Chandi the sister of Shankar and Bhola has 2 cubs and lives beside her mother "Madhuri". Moh male is allegedly the father of the cubs. 15+ cubs of Wagdoh are missing and haven't been sighted. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pckts - 01-04-2017 Great Info copters, thanks. Sad that so many of his cubs haven't been seen, but at least his bloodline has a few heirs still going. Little bit on the first girls "The sisters of Telia" The Girl’s Gang The famous sisters of telia which was the highlight of TADOBA for quite a few years... 2011 to 2013 to be specific. Waghdoh or Scarface (Father):- Waghdoh male came towards the telia and yenbodi side of mohurli range from his won waghdoh area. He was massive in size that time and he fought with yeda anna a few guides from mohurli saw this at the kosba lane in mohurli range. He killed madhuri’s 3 cubs and forced her to mate with him. We'll this mating was not as easy as it sounds..... Waghdoh being such a huge male as compared to madhuri. Hard to believe but this mating went for more than 60 days at the telia lake.... And at last it was successful. Waghdoh was now the dominant male of Moharli zone a new king with a massive size and we can call him more Social and carrying Father. . Scarface had seemingly moved with Madhuri and still provides the security which every tigress seeks. Madhuri (Mother):- Madhuri was born in 2006 and daughter of Laxmi in a prime area of the park, with her brother and sister. In 2009 when her mother and Madhuri, spent 24 hours stalking and eventually killing a sambar deer besides Telia Lake. It was battle for both predator and prey and lasted right through the night, as the hemmed in deer got caught between Telia Lake, a crocodile and the tigress and her daughter. The result was inevitable. When Laxmi her mother left to have another family with Yedda Anna (Crooked tail), she saw space in the Yenbodi, Telia lake and Kosba dam area of the Moharli range. Madhuri is one of the ‘faces’ of Tadoba. Together with the Panderpauni female called Nira, helped to launch Tadoba upon an unsuspecting and uninterested world. Now Madhuri was the Queen of Telia. In 2011 she gave birth to Four Cubs many thought that this is madhuris 1st litter but that was not the fact..... She earlier in 2010 had a litter of 3 tiny cubs fathered by YEDA ANNA which was later killed by Waghdoh male after that in 2011 Madhuri delivered a litter of 4 cubs and surprisingly all 4 females her four gorgeous female cubs, Mona, Geeta, Lara and Sonam. And then began the telia show. These girls rocked the tourism zone of mohurli range they shared, played, stalked and killed in and around the Telia Lake and its ever changing shoreline. Chital deer and wild boar flirted death with their desire to eat the lush grasslands of the shoreline but most escaped the inexperienced ambushes of the young sisters. A feat of fine motherhood with powerful and loving support from their father Scarface It was literally a wild zoo..... Go see and come. These girls never disappointed any tourist. They were bold, unlike their mother and especially 2 cubs who were never afraid to come close to a gypsy or a forest guard’s bike. It was Round officer (RO) of mohurli range who knew in and out of these cubs. We used to call him as Father of Telia sisters. He was never ever scared of them and even the cubs were equally friendly with him. What a dedicated man he is. Later these cubs grew up and in 2013 the conflict between them was clearly seen. I saw all the 5 together in April 2013 which was possibly the last sighting of all 5 together. Madhuri moved to buffer area of mohurli and in 2014 she was spotted with 4 new cubs, and again in 2016 she was spooted with a new litter of cubs and Scarface is father of all this cubs. Sonam: - Sonam the name came from the S mark on her neck one of the more boisterous females has taken most of her mother’s territory, and Madhuri was matured enough to leave the area and move to the buffer zone, as she knew she had to defend telia with 4 of her daughter's and Madhuri had decided to reside more in the dense mixed buffer zones of her forest territory, south west of the Telia dam region. Now soman has a litter of 3 and she seems to be a much matured mother just like her mother. Lara: - The name came from The L mark on her right side of face. She is sighted near Waghdoh area and some time at Jamunjora area. She is now a mother too. Mona: - She has M mark on her left side of face... no idea of her after getting separated from her sister and mother. Geeta: - She had G mark on her Right side of face... No idea of her too after splitting. Copyright Belong to different Photographers. 1. Waghdoh images. Photo Credit: -Mr Atul Dhamankar 2. Madhuri Image. Photo Credit: -Mr Sandeep Dutta 3. Sonam Image.
