There must be something to it because he just posted this picture below referring to 11 cubs, when for weeks they've been referring to 13 cubs. May have been the last time all 11 cubs were seen together (some missing from the image). *This image is copyright of its original author Edit: he just confirmed that he thought two cubs died. RE: Lions of Sabi Sands - Pbonz - 12-12-2018 (12-12-2018, 10:24 AM)Herekitty Wrote:(12-11-2018, 08:24 PM)Pbonz Wrote: Does Anyone follow Andrew Deckwarts from wild eye? I know it’s the wild and everything. But if something could be done from humans point of view to help, why not interfere. We have all these organizations trying to stop lions from being hunted. But if cubs get lost and the mother can’t find them, we knowingly let them die. Makes no sense to me. RE: Lions of Sabi Sands - Herekitty - 12-13-2018 Kambula lioness disciplines one of the older cubs. Video by Cayleigh Brown at Mala Mala, December 13, 2018 RE: Lions of Sabi Sands - sundarbans - 12-16-2018 Does the Othawa young male spend any time with the Othawa pride any more? And is his sister the mother of the new cubs? RE: Lions of Sabi Sands - Mohawk4 - 12-16-2018 No he is with the Mhangeni pride RE: Lions of Sabi Sands - Potato - 12-16-2018 And yes, his sister is mother of newest Othawa cubs. RE: Lions of Sabi Sands - Herekitty - 12-18-2018 This clears up the conjecture that the Kambula pride lost a couple of cubs: MALAMALA TODAY: December 13th-16th. Lions: Following on from our last post... All 13 cubs from the Kambula pride are accounted for! We had reason to believe that 2 cubs from the youngest litter had been ‘abandoned’ a few days ago. However, it would appear that the lionesses eventually noticed that 2 were missing and retraced their steps. Indeed the majority of our lion sightings were of the Kambula pride and 3 Gowrie males which included a sighting of 5 of the lionesses bringing down a zebra near Hyena Waterhole, where they were later joined by the Gowrie males. The Styx pride were viewed near Fourways Open Area, the Fourways pride in central Flockfield and the Eyrefield pride in the south. RE: Lions of Sabi Sands - Herekitty - 12-31-2018 MALAMALA TODAY: December 27th-29th. Lions: The 19 members of the Kambula pride were seen on all 3 days. Yesterday they were joined by the 3 Gowrie males at a waterbuck kill near Charleston North Crossing. The Styx pride were viewed near Campbell Koppies. An unidentified lioness was found with an impala kill near Mlowathi Koppies.
