" 'The Earth would be a much poorer place if we lost this icon of our high mountains. It would be a failure of humanity. We would have let down our planet. Our future generations would never forgive us, so we must do all we can to save the snow leopard."

A new user from India appears to have been thinking what you were thinking: https://wildfact.com/forum/topic-snow-leopard-conservation-center?

But anyway, the snow leopard is one of the predators of cubs of the giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca): https://wwf.panda.org/knowledge_hub/endangered_species/giant_panda/panda/kung_fu_panda_enemies_defences/

That size difference is insane. I didn't realise just how big ibex could get, which just makes their predation upon more impressive. Tfs!

@Sully, Snow Leopards take down Argali sheep which can weigh close to 250 kilos (some even weigh more) while a female snow leopard weighs 40 kilos. So, the Himalayan Ibex is not the biggest sheep they take down, although they are very big.

The Snow Leopard kills free-ranging Horses, including adults, throughout their home range.

"Of the domestic ungulates, the yaks and horses range freely

Snow leopards also killed horses more than expected (χ L 2 = 31.31, df = 4, P < 0.01)

Thus the annual per capita loss in relation to the state’s annual per capita income is relatively higher in the GMWS compared with Kibber, which could be attributed to the greater proportion of adult (>5 years old) yaks (65% of total yak loss) and horses (52% of total horse depredation) lost to predators in the GMWS."

Namgail et. al. 2007. Carnivore-Caused Livestock Mortality in Trans-Himalaya

There are various Horse breeds of differing sizes in the Himalayas. However,  one of the main breeds is the Zanskari Horses, which range from 700-1000 pounds(320-450 kg).

Snow Leopard melanism!
Not, I was joking. This is a black panther in snow. Notice how quick it has developed a thick pellage!

The first one picture appears to Common Leopards, not Snow Leopards.

The guy even identified the species as '#Leopard'
