Splitting of from your pride has always been a huge gamble. But it is necessary when prides grow to big and your resident coalition to weak etc.
Unfortunately it just didnt pan out this time. The timing was just bad with the collapse of the Tumbellas on the west and the Mhangeni pride fully accepting pride males again.
Things are just to much in a flux right now for any solo adventure.

The Avocas (Blondie/Mohawk) were still a strong coalition and in good health at the time Ridgenose (RN) and Amber Eyes (AE) decided to explore their options with the PC Males. That said, the pride had become pretty large by this point. So I can understand why they made the decision to move on. I would’ve hated for the Avocas to lose more Nkuhuma ladies, but it’s too bad that 2-3 other ladies didn’t join RN and AE in their departure. Perhaps things would’ve turned out differently and RN wouldn’t be on her own right now. Heck maybe AE would still be accounted for.
But I digress, it’s sad hearing about AE. She was one of the standouts in the Nkuhuma pride. Oftentimes she seemed to lead the pride when they decided to get moving. Steve of WE noted that unlike other lions when going to to the “toilet” she’d oftentimes move out of the area where she and others were resting and do her business elsewhere then return. And she could be very prickly and impatient. She’d deal with her cubs and other pride members cubs but only for a short period of time before her patience would run out and she’d be biting, growling and snapping at them. I’d seen her get nasty with other ladies in the pride and the dominate males too, for no other reason than she didn’t want to be bothered with them. Lol. She was a fierce girl with a LOT of personality.
RIP AE if she’s truly gone, which is likely since she’s been MIA for a couple of months. She’ll be missed.

PCM haven't been in their territory for a while, when they return they might/will likely chase the Birminghams away, then it will be safer for the Nkuhuma female as she can avoid Manghenis without getting too close to rival males.

Yea, thats what usually prides do when they encounter "unwanted" company and have cubs with them, they try to buy time for cubs to escape.
Although depends of situation and numbers, if Kambula females where with Ndhzengas, 3 Nkuhuma females would most likely not attack, yet immiditately flee, which would open possibility of some cubs getting caught.
Also, would be interesting to see how would this situation play out if Mohawk was there with Nkuhumas.

Dont think so, Ndhzengas wanted that carcass, so they prob claim it after they chased them off, doubt they pursuited them far.

I hope all is well too, but the N'was definitely looked like they meant business. I had posted a video awhile back, of a guide, out of his truck, walking the road following lion tracks, and when he suddenly looked up, there was a whole pride lying on the ground just a few yards away. Similar situation occurred there as well, with a lioness leading all of the cubs away, fleeing in the opposite direction. Nature never ceases to amaze!

Another interesting observation, as they were being chased back across the road, one of those lionesses peed, just like the one that Nkuhuma Male snuck up on, and this female actually paused and looked back to see if it had the desired affect. Seems that is very much a natural defensive response, an interesting aside.

If these attacks continue, it wont end well for Nkuhumas, as its 4 males 9 females vs 1 male and only 3 females

It was over carcass, not territorial dispute or anything else.
